Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I own a Volt and love the car, I see a lot of bashing towards Tesla in this thread. Personally I hope this is a company that makes it through for the long term, they've got some of the best technology and started this whole EV trend. Not sure if all the Tesla hate is because of Sunny's remarks...

Who’s Still a Reasonable Option for SS

Just called Mitchell & Whale for a policy with a car and bike together. I was told they have no company that will insure my bike (Kawi Zx6R).

As I said, price for a similarly appointed Cruze would be around 28k OTR. Very different from the Base Cruze that was being offered (manual tranny/ no fancy features/options).

Base cruze was a manual in 2018, 2019 doesn't offer manual but a 2019 configured the way the base volt is (still no keyless entry or keyless start) is $24,500 + tax. About 28k after taxes and what not, I walked out the door with the Volt for $31,000 (13k rebate) so at the time it was a great deal.

Set the heating temp to "Hi", select "Max" (Eco vs Max) and fan to "Low" this may keep your coolant temp high enough for ERDTT not to come on.

I installed a 47k resistor inline with the ambient air sensor for now. Sunday is probably a good day for me to run my wiring and hook up the switch I bought as well. DPDT switch (ON-ON) which will connect the regular ambient air sensor if flipped down or connect a fixed 15k resistor if flipped...

I thought that'd happen and even set up reminders to plug it in thinking I'd forget. I can tell you after a few days it becomes like second nature, park, get out of the car, lock the door, plug it in, walk inside.

5700km and still have half the original tank of gas left from when I got it new. It all depends on your needs.

Update: Have had the car for about 2 weeks now, it's been great for us and the driving we (wife) do. Gen 2's are rated at about 85km but we've been seeing over 100km / charge for the last 1.5 weeks, usually around 105km of range on a full battery. No L2 charger installed yet, solely L1 charging...

I don't think the Clarity has liquid cooled/heated batteries. The Volt and Bolt do and this is what sets them apart, they'll use battery power to maintain battery temperatures whereas the Clarity battery would be heated/cooled by your cabin air temperature... Someone can probably confirm this..
