    Best trackday tire without warmers?

+1 on the Q3s. Yet to see any credible evidence that there is a better street tire for track use at upper intermediate / lower advanced group pace. A that level on a hot day when pushed they can get a tad greasy, but are otherwise excellent. Wear well too.

What did you do to your Race/Track Bike today - 2014

Oh, and I will point out that I ended up being the fastest Prairie Dog by several seconds, despite it being my first time on the layout, and even though both my teammates did the entire Friday track day as practice. So there. Umbrella girl my foot.

What did you do to your Race/Track Bike today - 2014

Ha ha....yeah it started with "Well, practically no chance I can ride, but I might as well just take the gear on the slim chance that I can do a few practice laps".....then progressed to "Hmm, with gloves on I can work the brake lever pretty well without any pain or interference"....to "Okay...

Rear Wheel Hop - Track Day

What an interesting topic. I am fascinated by the comment that blipping might be counterproductive with a slipper clutch. Actually I am glad to hear it because I run a slipper but have always been too much of a spaz to be able to blip the throttle while maintaining consistent brake pressure...

Final '14 Calabogie TD's Sept 13-16 and Dunlop Tires blow out.

When I saw "Dunlop Tires Blow Out" in the thread title I have to say that my first reaction was alarm. Maybe not the best choice of words.

If possible. There is actually a slim chance that I will be able to ride endurance in Round 5, but more likely I will just be the lap recorder / umbrella girl. I am very hopeful that I will be able to compete in the final round.

Curious why you even need a speedo on a track bike. I have had my bike apart after my Round 4 crash, have straightened some stuff, and now apparently there is a big box of parts waiting for me at the post office - Woodcraft clipons, replacement brake lever, etc. Still waiting on the paint...

Disrepectful Trackday Riders- Don't Bother Coming Anymore!

Exactly. I bring my beacon to the SOAR weekends and almost always this year I have been the only person trying to set one up.

Disrepectful Trackday Riders- Don't Bother Coming Anymore!

Well, N3WMAN saves his money for race entry fees, and judges his pace by how many of the other racers he beats. Typically about all of them. Whatever he is doing seems to be working. Personally, I love having and using a laptimer. I actually enjoy competing against myself (trying to lower my...

Disrepectful Trackday Riders- Don't Bother Coming Anymore!

Er....if the story about him doing 1:20s on his first outing to TMP are true....then I beg to differ. But maybe that was BS?

Headphones while on track? (stop freaking out..I'm serious)

I must be from another generation or something. I can't *imagine* trying to do something that takes as much concentration as track riding with music playing in my ears. Then again I think I was a teenager before they even invented the Sony Walkman, so maybe I am just not used to spending my...

    An apology

Went around the outside of me quite close in the righthander after big daddy. Either his line cut across mine, or I got startled and changed my line - I honestly don't know which. Either way, I was on a sure trajectory towards his rear tire and so grabbed the brake, with a predictable result.

    An apology

Top part of the middle finger of my right hand was torn up badly. I won't describe it in more detail than that because it was pretty gory. I think it got caught between the end of the clipon and the asphalt as the bike was sliding. Bar end / brake lever guard was torn off. I was sent to the...

    An apology

To the rider who came by the ambulance at Grand Bend yesterday to say he was sorry for any involvement he had in my accident (sorry I don't know your name): What I should have said to you is "Thank you for coming by - I appreciate it." I apologize. Please understand that when we spoke I...

    Grom racing class next year??

I dunno. At a certain point there is just too much time doing nothing but tucking and stretching the throttle cable. I recently watched a video of some street 250s racing on the new F1 track in India (Buddh International). On those bikes the straight takes 30 s. One Mississippi...two...
