    batteries

Nothing but good luck with the batteries from Kapscomoto out in Durham. Cheap, and at their prices, you can get a fresh one each year for 4 years for the cost of a Yuasa. On year 3 for my vfr, despite my erratic riding schedule. Always on a tender for hiatuses more than a few weeks.

To train or not to train?

100% encouraged and highly recommended. Even more important in our geographical region since we almost start back from square one every spring due to winter cutting our season by 25-50%. As life continues, I take every chance I get to go riding. Even if I only have 30 minutes, I'll go to a big...

Top Coat F11 - anyone use it?

Lots of product testing RE: durability, ease of application compared to other brands and products on youtube from current professionals. What are you looking for in a coating product Rob? Supreme durability / ease of application / cheap? Bikes are small, so even the most complicated...

Mesh Jacket too cold for most nights?

I use the uniqulo heattech shirts.. they were on sale for $8.99 or close to that a few weeks ago. Just another option to go under the mesh jackets. On the really weird/long days, I'll often use my liners from my cold weather jacket with my Revit airwave and it works wonderfully for the early...

    New Site

Tried that, didn't work.. removed the character before the https as well as the * after avatars and both either "Failed, download failure" or "Failed, not a valid filters list". Any pointers?

    New Site

Few suggestions: (mainly for desktop, not mobile) Would love the ability to turn off other posters' avatars.. couldn't find that one in the settings. Would also like to bring back the "view in print mode" to convert to printer-friendly (or work friendly) format, stripping all avatars/signatures.

2019 Renewal - Increase? Allstate? Is this a joke?

With allstate, it's the charge to pay monthly. Kinda ridiculous, but it is what it is. I believe you can eliminate it with an upfront payment for the year's premium.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Went through a whole week of calling with insurance companies. Net result? Almost no incentive to selling my gas hog v8 for an eco/hybrid/electric vehicle (quoted on all years Chevy Volt/Prius). Fuel savings offset by insurance costs of nearly $300-600 more a year. Wish I did heavier mileage to...

2019 Renewal - Increase? Allstate? Is this a joke?

+1 for Matt, most helpful agent/broker that I spoke to in the past few weeks, no time wasted. Gonna have to start scheduling out time 360 days ahead of time for 2020 renewal... gotta make some sort of effort to beat them at their own game.

Winter Tires ... where do you get them?

Brand new from a dealer, sure. But I keep an eye out during summers, and I lucked out on a set of 17" SUV Hak R8's for less than $100/tire, driven less than 10,000km. Before that, I snagged a set of xice2's for $300 though these were driven for 2 winters. The numbers make more sense if you're...

2019 Renewal - Increase? Allstate? Is this a joke?

Allstate mails them out separately. Man, Aviva has got to be the most difficult place to quote on. I posted earlier in this thread about Allstate jacking my rates up a bit. I called everyone, even resorted to calling/online quoting from kanetix, of course, they can't quote both auto and mc on...

Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2018 Edition)

If not for errands, this past Saturday was glorious midtown. Nice blacktop, not much ice/salt residue from the rains.. Packed mine up for the winter though, not too trusting on the super old Dunlop tires. Between the Michelin Pilot Road 5 and Dunlop RoadSmart 3, would one be more suitable for...

Why aren't radar detectors legal in Ontario?

Used to be "cool", nowadays, if everyone used free apps like Waze, the hive community would out all piggies hoping for a nice quota bump.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I don't buy it. California only has a few, rest of the US? NOPE (assuming, zero reading). Let's look across the ponds, larger populations, more adopters even if only 1% buy in, countries with many times over more cash to burn and an appetite to try 'new' tech: (assuming) a resounding "Nope"...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Not an issue if coming off the freeway to a charger, but after watching some tesla owner videos in cold climates, that sometimes becomes an issue. For the battery to be ready to get the full beans, amperage wise, they need to be at operational temperature. Park a tesla overnight in -20*c, it'll...

    Volvo XC90 (Current gen)

Boss has a fully loaded 2018. It has seen the shop a fair bit. Full engine replacement earlier in spring due to some defect with a piston. Went back a few months later for some other issue. All covered of course. Gorgeous SUV of course, his older one had no issues.

    Southwood 13 - still a stink bomb

Drove through the entire stretch from around hwy 11 to Bala, less gravel than earlier this year, but potholes still all over. Wish I had the MC though.. could have saved 30 minutes through the Bala Cranberry festival traffic. Fall colorwise, probably the RIGHT time to go in the next week/2...
