Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Is there an MPG number for the volts that NEVER get to be plugged in? So their lifetime MPG assuming that the car is running solely on engine-and-gas generated electricity and the bit scavenged from regen?

    Motorcycle Carriers

Not a super accurate comparison, but Princess Auto is 51lbs, the shipping weight of the Mototote is 70lbs, 74 for the versahaul. Assuming the packaging during shipping isn't a whopping full 20lbs, you can assume one is a bit more robust than the other.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

There will always be diesel pumps for the big rigs and commercial vehicles.. maybe they'll disappear from the downtown core, but along a major route, no way. I submit that diesel may have fewer and offerings moving forward, but I dare believe that there will always be one or two dumb/brave souls...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

Love the Model 3, love the direction of innovation, but we still ain’t there. So say 100,000 Model 3’s come onto the Ontario roads over the next 2 years, all those existing mall chargers will be full, all the time, and lineups at a supercharger? HAH, no thanks Wynn. What’s the current and...

    Motorcycle Carriers

I've got air suspension on a v8 body on frame. Rated at 700lbs tongue weight with WD hitch 600 otherwise Used it with a 450lbs bike no issues for a few times Have yet to use it with my new bike I would recommend them, assuming the truck is suited for the task. Would also recommend installing a...

    My summer of stator failures.....sigh

Is the R/R easily accessible on the CBF?--I would do a close visual inspection of those connections/grounds if so, looking for corrosion/overheating. Definitely with a fine-tooth comb before the warranty dries up. Been a while since I've owned something with a warranty, chuckle.

    My summer of stator failures.....sigh

Might it be similar issues that plague the VFR's? Something about bad connections and not robust enough wiring leading the rectifyer to overheat, and something something also affecting the stator eventually? VFR's have a full documented, step by step to evaluate and test the entire charging...

First time being insured question (23 y/o, r6)

I can suggest the overly-unpopular option of going with an old bike like ex500/gs500, a 500cc bike that is awful to look at, but not much more expensive than a much newer 250cc sportbike. Prices when starting at 25 are around $900-1300 starting off.

    Textile vs Riding jeans

I have faith in textiles for street riding. Just not that from lesser names, but will trust Revit/Alpine/Rukka/Dainaise/etc. Got rear ended last year, Revit airwave v1.0 pants ripped in the section just next to the knee armor, not a scratch on my knee, and I assume I landed on the armored and...

What are some good areas to practice emergency braking?

Go train parking lots on weekends, ttc parking lots off hours or their secondary lots, school parking lots etc As always, scout out the surface from a few directions before grabbing a fistful.

    oilmat/driveway dent protection

A cheapo fix would also be old car floormats that people regularly toss out in the trash by car washes and gas stations. Minor damage should it get tossed by the wind. Will limit the depressions in asphalt. Catch drips, etc.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

What are you guys paying for the Volt? Following are With Allstate, with the bike, 1 car, +house insurance. I'm 1200 (full comp) each for both my old suv and vw golf (with Intact) prius/volts were in the $1800 range. (regrettably), the Prius V is probably the car-van that makes the most sense...

Rev matching... still can't get it right :(

A few tips picked up from various people/sources over the years.. 1. pull brake lever with pads of your index/middle finger--allows you to blip the throttle without accidently jerking the brake lever, smooooth 2. if you’re not braking, aka, just dumping down a few gears for a long pull, “slowing...

I agree with that. Crossovers (puke) are the best sellers for most of the manufacturers these days. I would wager that Kia or Hyundai will put one in one of their's, and all the domestic and Japanese will have to follow suit in short order.

Anyone buy bike stuff from AliExpress?

That's certainly not representative of the 100's of orders that I've put through on .ca/.com--beit a Prime order or regular non-prime. Maybe you're delivering to a strange address? I ship to my office and they always deliver by their promise date unless it straddles a weekend. In any case, the...

    Over 25 with M1/M2

Echoing that online quotes are a waste of time except for a super vague idea of "whether bike A cheaper to insure than bike B". Definitely sort the insurance forum by date and look for the brokers/agents with lots of referrals who will almost certainly be able to provide a lower price after you...
