    Sadly I don't. :/

Clutch adjustment = Poor engine braking.

Good to know, it doesn't appear to be slipping (as far as I can tell) during acceleration currently. I've found my bike to be pretty sensitive to temperature, and find I have to adjust the idle screw whenever the temperature's changed significantly since the previous day - there doesn't seem...

Clutch adjustment = Poor engine braking.

Tried this while experimenting further, and the results were about the same. Haynes service manual provided a basic description and I looked up further elaboration on the gstwins forum. Just in case this was the issue I backed it off another 1/3 of a turn or so an hour ago, but it hasn't made...

Clutch adjustment = Poor engine braking.

If it's not clutch related, any ideas what could be causing the slow RPM drop when the gas is released? Engine braking ability is almost gone, and if I close the throttle while going downhill without pulling in the clutch, instead of slowing quickly as you'd expect, the RPMs drop very slowly...

Clutch adjustment = Poor engine braking.

Alright, I'll try backing it off another fraction of a turn and see whether it changes anything. Still interested in hearing additional or alternate explanations since I'm sure there's more than one way this slow RPM drop/poor engine braking I'm noticing could happen.

Clutch adjustment = Poor engine braking.

invictus43, I was told to turn the release adjustment screw in just until resistance is felt, so that's the level of pressure I'm talking about, it's certainly not a great deal.

Clutch adjustment = Poor engine braking.

I adjusted my clutch the other day because I suspected it was sticking slightly. My initial adjustment was off slightly: after a quick ride around the neighborhood, I noticed it seemed to be slipping slightly when accelerating past 30 MPH... so, I pulled over, pulled out my tools, and did a...

US Special Forces ride dirt bikes

Skyrider, unless the company execuctives are clueless, they must have a patent on it. So, they're either unwilling to license it or waiting for someone to pay what they want for a license.

Need to vent - Worst day of my life

My bike has a small toolkit that came with it that's stored under the seat - I keep a fresh, unopened pair of contact lenses in there just for situations like this.

    GS500 - Fairing removal

No problem. Remembering more details now: my workaround for the headlight tip striking the mudguard while waiting for my springs to get mailed was to put an inch long strip of foam tape (weather stripping for windows) on the fender at the contact point, as well as a similar sized piece on the...

    GS500 - Fairing removal

Matt, I basically did what this guy did: http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=39815.0, so, yeah, you remove the light from it's normal housing and re-mount it. Snow City was able to order the bracket from their catalogue as well as the cheap-*** mirrors that he used (they're sufficient...

    Gear grinding

The seller must have told you that to cover up a problem, if the bike's stalling at the manufacturer's recommended idle RPM there's something wrong with it and you should get it looked at.

    Gear grinding

Surein, do you know for a fact that 2000 is the correct idle speed for your bike? I'm not really familiar with bikes that old, but it sounds a little high. EDIT: Cursory googling seems to suggest a speed of about 1000-1300 RPM to be correct for a CB750.

    GS500 - Fairing removal

You don't need a new headlight, you can strip it naked with the stock headlights. I think I paid about 55$ to strip mine nakes (15$ for a bracket, 20$ for new mirrors, 20$ for new signals.

    Linked/combine brake systems illegal?

Hey guys, I was looking through the HTA and noticed this: Motorcycles, etc. (2) Every motorcycle, motor-assisted bicycle or power-assisted bicycle when being driven on a highway shall be equipped with at least two braking systems, each with a separate means of application, with one effective...

How should I fix her up?

Go naked. You can re-mount the headlight you have on an aftermarket bracket for 15$, you'll just need some mirrors and turn signals. I stripped the fairings off my GS500F a month after I got it and haven't looked back. Some pics of what it can look like here...

    Best breakfast joints?

I have never heard of this place before, but it's right down the street from me so I'm gonna do exactly this tomorrow morning. Would be great to see you there some time.

Someone's bike is in peril while parked - what to do?

I have mixed feeling about this. I would check for signs of an obvious alarm, and if there were one, I wouldn't touch it, because I don't want anyone hearing a bike alarm go off and seeing me there - unless it's me setting off my own alarm, which happens all the time, cause, well... Xena. If I...

Electric biker ran a red light...

There should be a new class for these things, maybe a VLSM class that would cover both ebikes and slower gas mopeds.
