    Clarification on lane splitting?

As do I, as that is the law here. However, where do you think is the higher chance of being hit from behind? While at the back, or up near the front between two stationary cars?

    Clarification on lane splitting?

Lets make it simple for you with no anecdotes at all: 1) Do rear end accidents happen, yes or no? 2) If a motorcycle comes up to stationary traffic at a stop light, which is the safer location -- up near the front between two stopped cars or at the rear behind all of the stopped cars?

    Clarification on lane splitting?

Calm down hedo, I didn't say a word about lane splitting, did I? I said filtering is safer... which I believe it is, it protects you from being hit from cars driven by distracted drivers. Of course, you are still on the road and still in traffic so sure, **** can still happen.

So not a Cyclone RX3 or TT250 then, I take it? :lmao:

Stunt Driving Charge in Brockville (near Kingston) HELP!

Haha, yeah right. As a supervisor, a line used in every single interview I've ever given has been "We are not here to talk about XXXXX's behaviour, we are here to talk about yours."

    Keihin FCR39 in a DRZ

Anyway, the 3x3 has been done a long time ago. Jetted as well. Had a Powercore 4 on it... got rid of it because it was too damn loud, couldn't listen to tunes via the sena with that pipe. Not sure if the DRZ is worth striving for more. Got a Clarke tank on it though.... a 350km range is nice to...

    Clarification on lane splitting?

I stay out of traffic as well, however sometimes it is unavoidable. Three times in my 24 years of riding on the street has it been necessary to filter up between cars to avoid being rear ended (was watching mirrors). In one of those three cases the car that would have hit me actually hit the...

    Clarification on lane splitting?

I know all of you love arguing so much, but if you are actually a rider you should be all for filtering because it is safer. If you get rear ended driving a car, most likely you'll be fine... maybe a sore neck. If you get rear ended riding a bike, you will likely be seriously injured or dead...

Storing a gas tank for awhile, how to prep?

So I actually have a jug of corrosion free out in the garage... maybe a quick spray of that stuff in the dry tank would do it... I wonder how I would get the corrosion free out in the future, perhaps a couple rinses with some old gas?

Storing a gas tank for awhile, how to prep?

I've got a Clarke tank for the DRZ and am about to switch over. I don't want the original tank to form any rust, yet I don't want to store it full as I don't know when I will use it again. Is there something I should rinse the tank with once empty to prevent corrosion?

Can you 'off road' with Vstrom?

Oh... that bit. Those are highway pegs that are bolted on there, and the bare metal is where they slide into when folded down. I grease that bit every so often so it doesn't seize up.

Can you 'off road' with Vstrom?

Nope, it's not failed anywhere yet... I take it off when I do an oil change and paint over the scratches so it doesn't start rusting. Sent from my LG-H812 using Tapatalk

Can you 'off road' with Vstrom?

This was what my skid plate looked like after one particular trip to the Bancroft area where I started exploring some ATV trails. There was a sign saying a lookout was this way, and it was a fairly steep climb for the Vstrom... I ended up going up some rock outcrop that I shouldn't have... but...

Can you 'off road' with Vstrom?

Yeah, sure it can... but it can be tough going if you find mud and sand... the bike is a heavy beast. A good thick skid plate like the Enduro Guardian is a priority offroad... the oil cooler is in a bad spot on the pre-2012s, the oil filter is in a bad spot on the post-2012s, and you only have...

Scenic gravel roads in Grey County

There are also a tonne of good trails up there for those with knobby tires... it's a bit of a stretch getting there on knobbies (if you don't have a truck), but worth it.

If you could live anywhere in Canada, where would it be?

That's true, and I hadn't put much thought into it... Dad survived colon cancer 25 years ago, and ever since has been a volunteer driver for the Cancer Society because even though Stratford has a hospital, the cancer treatment happens in London.... certainly is something to keep in mind.

    Trudeau's carbon pricing

If they want to increase or make new consumption taxes, which a carbon tax is, fine, go ahead... but then decrease my fixed tax burden by reducing my income tax -- which, of course, the Liberals won't do... how can they when they are spending like drunken sailors.

If you could live anywhere in Canada, where would it be?

That is what kind of set me off today... being in Mississauga, I am almost at the centre of the traffic now. I don't often tour Eastwards because I need to waste an hour or more crossing the city and almost always hit traffic, same on the return. I typically go Northwards as it's only 20...

    Keihin FCR39 in a DRZ

Thanks Johnny, I think I am going to give up this idea... I had three different people send me pictures of three different versions of FCR39s... no idea which one would work and which wouldn't... then all the extras needed for the conversion -- adaptor, manifold, throttle, jets, etc etc... and...
