Just ride the thing like you normally would. I will be cautious for the first few minutes only because I have a new part on the bike, not because I'm worried about grip. At track days I put on brand new tires and head straight out. No change in my riding behaviour. In fact, I ride harder knowing...
I have a RS-1 and love it. Used it on track once but due to sizing it was not ideal (it's loosened over time). Properly fitted, I'm sure it would be fine. The RS-1 was replaced with the new Star lineup. Star is definitely the way to go for track. The other helmets mentioned are low-end street lids.
Canadian Tire. If all you want is to be passed then there's a good chance they will pass you because they know f*** all about bikes. I've been to 3 or 4 different locations for safety and they were all incompetent.
The one at Allen and Lawrence literally just turned my lights on, honked the...
Interestingly enough, I recently got a quote from a broker with Aviva for $1500 /yr. I had previously been denied by Aviva but this time around I only provided the VIN.
That sucks. Hope you found them. Yesterday, I put my mom's summer tires back on her car but left the wheel-lock key on the lug. Went for a short test drive around the block and lost it lol.
I'm surprised to hear that. The exhaust routes under the engine and exits out the side same as most bikes. My RR has an undertail exhaust and I don't find it too bad.
I just got insurance back with Allstate. $1200 /yr. Funny thing is they signed me up for a month last fall and then cancelled on me because it was sport bike and they wanted additional insurance products from me. Apparently the rule has changed since then and they signed me back up.
Aviva gave...
Whoa, that does look like the Sena. Most likely a knock off product, at least the shell.
If it's within the budget I highly recommend going Sena though. They build a quality product and they really seem to know what they're doing electronically. I have the SMH-5 and waiting for the 10C Evo to...
Are you comparing those fuel economy numbers to a GSXR 1000 or 750 or 600? I would expect there to be some variance if engine is in a different class. The strong smell is what I would be trying to track down. Could be a leak or running rich like you suspect.
For reference, on my 600 I get...
Absolutely you can track it. Just make sure it is in good mechanical condition and fill your rad with water. Don't need special tires as long as your rubber is in good shape and aren't too worn. Check your brakes too.
The school recommendation is also a good option. Either FAST, Racer5 or Pro6...
Good luck. I'm 35 and having a hard time with insurance on a 600. My recommendation is to get something more practical for the street. If you really want to sport ride pick up something cheap on the used market and track it.
There are a lot of theories and often times the riders themselves can't really pinpoint why they do it. Some say it's a dirt riding habit which I think is probably likely. I believe Rossi popularized it although he wasn't the first to do it on an asphalt track.
