    BMW self driving motorcycle

The first application of the technology will probably be a Bluetooth-compatible electric kickstand. Come on BMW owners, you know you want one! No more boot scuffing, right?

    Periodic Riding During Winter

Traction is usually fine too, up to a point. Just pretend it's raining and avoid sudden acceleration or braking. Once the snow starts collecting and the temps drop below 0C, watch out. That's when I call it a season. I need my bones intact for next spring.

Helmet Exemption Coming for Sikh Motorcyclists in Ontario

Bicycles don't require licensing, insurance or helmets. With no real legal framework (or incentive due to low numbers) to craft "GOTCHA!" clauses, OHIP probably treats cyclists as pedestrians for coverage purposes. I'd guess rollerbladers, skateboarders, unicyclists, etc. share the same...

    Electronic Problems

Hot with solar storms? The sun is currently entering the solar minimum, IIRC. Sunspot activity (which is often responsible for CMEs and solar flares) is unusually quiet. Earlier this year, there were no visible sunspots for 37 consecutive days, if reports were accurate. The excessive amount of...

Anyone been fired as a customer from mechanic?

In my experience, a customer has to be quite the roll of used toilet paper to get "fired". Otherwise you put up with it--that's why they call it work. Also, an implausible story usually hides an embarrassing truth.

    A comfortable SS?

Was thinking pre-06, different model (ZX6E). Not quite as severe as 06+. Same deal with the Thundercat/R6 for Yamaha. Motorcycle's fit like mattresses--tiny changes can make all the difference. EDIT: Double post? Sorry.

Helmet Exemption Coming for Sikh Motorcyclists in Ontario

Dudes, we're missing the bigger picture here. Go-pro mounts for turbans? "Getback" kirpans? There are opportunities waiting for the savvy businessman here. Plus, if Sikh rider groups can badger the government into helmet exemptions, we should ask for their organizational help in badgering Dougy...

Tory takes aim at noisy motorcycles

Tory is scoring easy points off of hobbyists who don't even protest their wallets being raided by insurance companies. The most visible (and audible) riders usually go out of their way to behave like turkeys, earning us zero public support. Complaints only matter if politicians can hear them...

    A comfortable SS?

Try some of the older carbed SS bikes. The ergos aren't too bad and can be modified more easily, IMO. As long as they have haven't been afflicted by modding disease, they will be reliable and fast enough. A Blackbird or ZZR1200 maybe.

    fire at TMP

Courting intense police and insurance scrutiny, not to mention potential lawsuits from those campers seems very risky. Sell off the vehicles, then the property, walk away with $$$. Mind you, schemers are rarely so clever.

    sex dolls

I can see the opening paragraph of a future trillionaire's autobiography: "People always want to know where I got my start. They say they have the drive to succeed, too. When I tell them my first job was cleaning out sex dolls for 8 Ameros an hour, that government job they hate suddenly seems...

Helmet Exemption Coming for Sikh Motorcyclists in Ontario

Are the police really going to demand proof of your Sikh-ness if your're a turban-loving caucasian? Will they have a skin-tone chart to guide them? App developers take note! Personally, I think more bald men should accessorize with turbans instead of baseball caps or toques. With all the bearded...

Never seen anything like this before... brake failure????

Unlikely, but not never, dude. I had total brake failure on my car a few years back. Both wheel cylinders on the rear drums failed at roughly the same time. Fortunately, the traffic on LSB wasn't moving too fast and I was able to safely stop by downshifting/hand brake. I'll never forget that...

    Clarington Cycle Closed???

Absolutely. My own business is facing a similar situation next year. Was forced out of downtown a few years back, now midtown is being swarmed by the same forces--landlords, developers and councilors with dollars and their mind. Closing down is a real possibility and it totally sucks. At least...

Vehicles come up beside you on highway?

A couple of years back, returning from Tobermory, there was this guy riding a cruiser with similar spikes attached to the axles. There was a lot of chrome on that bike. Rode slow and tried to stop people from passing by putting his hand out, which naturally didn't work. OP, keep your wits...

Anyone with a kawi versys x300?

Sure it's nitpicking but "couldn't care less" is what you want. Like-minded is also shorthand for friends or respected associates, people you DO care about. I would have gone with, "In this case, I am untroubled by the preferences of strangers. The CB500x functions very well on both rural roads...

    scooter

Lots of experience on the 650 Burgman here. Stock suspension is surprisingly lousy for a bike specifically meant to carry two on city roads--pillion foot rests are sculpted into the bodywork AND it includes a dedicated backrest. Upgrades are well documented and work well. Seating, storage...

Audi no longer offering manual transmission cars in Canada

Automation came for your job and now it's coming for your fun, too. Sporty cards = expensive cars = status symbols. Dealerships don't want slow selling status symbols. Where are you going to really drive them anyway? The GTA is surrounded by kilometers and kilometers of poorly planned, clogged...

What is H-D up to ?

Also, Toyota folded the Scion brand because it's goal of appealing to a younger demographic failed--lots of middle aged people loved them however (like the "youth oriented" Honda Element). Very practical. Even a cheap new car ends up around $18k nowadays, when the government has their way. Not...
