I didnt change anything....I just messed with the idle screw and adjustment screw. As many bikes as I have had, I have never messed with the carbs and jetting so Im new with this. Seems to be running fine, but he is going to be racing this thing so just wanna know how to have it running at...

this is exactly why its so different for every person. You can do this because I am assuming its just you ....no small kids to take then where they need to go. You also mentioned gas, but on my R1 it was no cheaper on gas then in my 4 banger...but yes for 600 and below I can see it definately...

ya I dont even know if I need to get into that much, just based on the idle screw and the carb screw on the side that i can see... Like i read stuff about x amount turns out on the carb screw and then match that up with the idle..just no sure how many turns out even the damn carb screw has to be...

I can say I know my dog 100%!! i have kids, and if for one minute I would think he would just "snap" then he wouldnt be in my house. As a puppy you watch for signs and see how the dog behaves. some breeds have a tendancy to be less tolerant or to "snap" and if that is your type of dog you know...

Does anyone have a good link on how to do this properly? I have my sons little 50 and i cant get the setup right. I have no idea with this stuff. Its running way to lean I think and idling way to high.

Lol yes I am aware of that...but like you guys have pointed out, my neighbours love the city, so maybe if the see a plate they wont complain, although with this situation it may be more of not so much a by law as a HTA deal.... I'm screwed! lol.

Well right now, he is just riding around the street, we live on a cul de sac so he can do his turns there, not much practice in terms of dirt, but it has helped him alot. The bike is only a 50 but it is plated and insured, so not really worried about what neighbours say.

I just know it needs a chain for sure...what would be on that 50 a 515?

Ya IF we get a spare Saturday i will look into that...I heard good things about OCMC and will be a great entry level race deal for him.

Also, maybe I should post in technical but I know his 50 needs a new chain and sprockets. On something like the 50, what are good reccomendations for that, and even more so a better sprocket setup for the track?

I only have the one kid( my 7 year old) with a bike right now, and although its a KTM 50 2 stroke, its the mini adventure, so from what i understand not as scary. Plus no clutch so he can focus on just riding. any nice day, he is out on it and im teaching him, he has no fear and is wide open...

Im trying to access the ktmtalk website but its a nightmare. I want someone to do a full tuneup of my sons 50 so I can get the idea and make sure its running perfect come race time, but that site which is suppose to have all the info sucks to register for.
