I did my M1x course a couple of years ago, I think it was the first course of the year. Sunday morning, someone low-sided because there was ice on the pavement. In retrospect, not sure why we were allowed to ride at all considering the morning conditions.
I'm still commuting downtown everyday. I guess we'll see what happens Thursday night when it's chance of flurries. The salt/brine trucks will probably come out that night, which might mean the end of the season for me... :(
I can imagine it's probably not the most comfortable bike to handle at 5'3, especially for a woman. I've had a couple of close calls while backing up on tippy toes (I'm 5'8 ).
Yes and no.
I mean think about how fast you can get to 180+ and back down to legal speeds on your gixxer. It's literally a matter of a few seconds. We don't know if this guy was just cruising down the road at 183 or he decided to open it up through a couple of gears from a light.
