    Fantasy licensing thread

You missed the point of my post: sitting in one spot for 20 minutes every few months is not going to do anything for traffic safety. When the first driver stops in a line of cars (at the stop sign) this forces everyone behind to stop. They then look around for the reason why the other driver...

How sad is our society ? City TV story lead is a cat thrown on a higway .

The link was for a duck story not a violence against women story. How are we supposed to understand what the point of the post is? If I could read minds I would be rich (not simply confused).

maybe caught in the act but they got away

It's sad that people can get in and out of parking garages so easily making it difficult for them to get caught when they are up to no good.

Police Services in Ontario are so infuriating, they do something similar to that in our residential neighbourhood where they wait near an intersection (every three to four months) for 20 minutes looking for those that don't stop at the stop sign. I know that they (Police) are there because the...

Used to be that you could only take the written test in the two official languages. If you did not speak English or French you would take the test orally by hiring an officially licensed by MTO translator (cost about $125). The oral test would be audio recorded so that the transaction could be...

    Fantasy licensing thread

You have mentioned the two important groups which are causing the problem: individual drivers who are not taking responsibility for their mistakes because as humans we tend to have an over inflated perception of our abilities and the Ministry of Transportation which is overseen by politicians...

Years ago in Brampton there was the John Rhodes Center which was a Ministry of Transportation Driver Examination Center which was on private (government) property. It didn't have your skid pad but had had so many possible traffic scenarios which resulted in that particular center having a much...

    Narrowing lanes in Toronto?

Police Services are often as bad as the other fools. A few weeks ago a Toronto Metro Police Officer cut me off twice in less than five seconds!!!

    Hip protection for low-sides

The blow-up jacket is available from I think Dainese but are blow-up pants also available?

    Scotch anyone?

I have tried almost all of the mentioned Scotch whiskeys except for the JW Platinum Label; Glenmorangie has become my favourite. It is smooth with a complex flavour and is reasonably priced. But as has been already posted, try as many as you can and come to your own conclusion.

    Ontario Gov "reducing" insurance rates

The troubling part with this situation is that motor-vehicle income replacement benefits are tax exempt while work disability insurance is a taxable benefit; in the end you will have to pay back some of your work benefits in taxes.

    Ontario Gov "reducing" insurance rates

This year car insurance premium down, motorcycle insurance up.

Accident in mall parking lot. 50/50 fault. Will my rates go up?

Insurance companies have their own (logic) way of looking at a collision; you'll have to ask them about that situation.

There are programs currently in Ontario that are supposed to deal with bad drivers; unfortunately the Ministry of Transportation is not interested in dealing with the problem. The Collision Repeater Program is supposed to have individuals that are involved in 3 or more collisions in any 2 year...

    Hip protection for low-sides

I use Sliders Denim Pants and Sliders Cargo Pants. These are kevlar reinforced in the knees, hips and buttocks. Underneath the pants I wear Icon Stryker shorts which have thin padding for buttocks and gel inserts for hip joint protection.

    Snow tires

Are the Honda Snowthrowers as nice as the Lawnmowers? I use summer tires on the Sport car but all-season (3 season) on the regular cars; have winter tires for all.

    Snow tires

Good plan; I haven't tried that. Any chance this can also work on 3-season tires?

Not superstitious, but I try to cover all possibilities just in case.

Accident in mall parking lot. 50/50 fault. Will my rates go up?

I don't understand what you are saying. Why can't a Police Officer assign fault and yet not charge anyone? They show up after the collision at which time the vehicles may have been moved and because of this may feel that they don't have enough evidence for court (conviction) but in the report...
