A Vicious Cycle missnig from the Motorcycle show?

I talked to one of the guys at their booth here in Calgary yesterday, there was no mention of any business issues.

How far did you go this season?

Really like it so far. Lots of nice riding, especially through Kananaskis, but we've taken the bikes to Banff and Lake Louise as well. There seems to be more bikes here than in Ontario, especially on the back roads at the weekend - lots of waving. I have a few videos on Youtube under the same...

How far did you go this season?

I went from Milton to Calgary, but the bike was in the back of a truck, so probably doesn't count :-) Riding-wise it was quite low compared to others, but given a slow (wet) start to the season, a cross-country move and an early end here (Bike's been away for a month now) I still managed just...

Manifesto - We, the Motorcycles, Are Here to Save Toronto

This. I've filtered in Ireland and Bermuda without a concern, as motorists know and expect bikes to be coming up. I wouldn't try it in Canada, there are too many idiots rushing around oblivious to everyone else to put my life on the line like that. Alan

Advantages and disadvantages of graduated licensing?

When I began riding in Ireland in the mid 90's I was restricted to a 125cc as I was under 25 at the time. There was also the 33hp limit. Once I either turned 25 or was fully licensed for 3 years the restrictions were limited. As a beginner I didn't find it to be a problem, I still travelled the...

Too good to put in the Multimedia section

Great video. It's just an awesome race. My wife's cousin went over to watch this summer - as soon as he got back he booked flights, hotel and bike shipping for next year!

    License plate blocker

Just hop off the bike and walk it backwards down the ramp. Works every time :-)

2011_07_12 Old School Road Caledon Rider Down

According to the latest update from Tonella on the Facebook group, Laurence is doing well, and is actually heading home in the next couple of days, well ahead of the original timeframe. There is still a lot of healing and therapy to go through, but he's moving in the right direction. Alan

    How to go from a 250 to a 600?

Thanks, but |I picked up a K5 GSX-R 750 a few weeks ago. I definately wanted a supersport, and so far it's working outjust fine :-) Alan

    How to go from a 250 to a 600?

I believe the data comes from insurance files, which means that those who kept riding into their 3rd year were more inclined to take a tumble. I've seen other data which shows that the actual # of crashes is highest for 1st year riders. It could all be part of an insurance industry scheme to...

    How to go from a 250 to a 600?

So I've got 2 more years before I have to worry about crashing? :-) Kidding, I've heard that factoid from other sources (even though insurance reports don't seem to support it, but I'm sure there's other factors to that as well). I will be using the remainder of this season to get familiar with...

    How to go from a 250 to a 600?

So I picked up the bike this morning, and rode it 30km home from NE Calgary to SW in Saturday morning traffic. I found it very easy to ride, as long as I was smooth with both hands. The bike is eager to get the revs up, and it doesn't take much provocation to jump a couple thousand rpms. The...

    How to go from a 250 to a 600?

So I guess I should have called this thread "how to go from a 250 to a 750"! Got a good deal on a really clean K5 GSX-R750, which I will be picking up on Saturday. My mileage on the 250 got up to 2,700, so it's a bit earlier than planned, and a bit bigger than planned, but I like having more...

2005 GSXR 750 - Tell me about it...

I read that review before, it was one of the ones that sold me on getting the 750. The fact it has pitcures of the same colour bike I was looking at didn't hurt either :-)

2005 GSXR 750 - Tell me about it...

Thanks for the tip, I'll see if its a noise that bugs me first (if I can hear it). I've heard it reasonably well-behaved in the midrange, but turns into a lunatic over 9500 or so. Would you agree?

2005 GSXR 750 - Tell me about it...

No, GW Cycle World. We went in to have a look for some jeans for my wife, so naturally I wandered off to the bikes and saw the 750. The yellow & black colour scheme is quite striking, and makes it look very different from the typical gixxers. My wife got her Aprilia Mana at Blackfoot though, so...

2005 GSXR 750 - Tell me about it...

Good to know. I went back to see it today and managed to get a good number from the sales guy, so I will be picking it up during the week! Really excited about getting out on the road with it and learning how a bigger bike behaves...

2005 GSXR 750 - Tell me about it...

Thanks. I got the sales guy to start it up for me on Tuesday and we ran it for a few minutes. I didn't hear anything unusual in the idle speed, so there shouldn't be any concerns about this?

2005 GSXR 750 - Tell me about it...

I hadn't heard of any issues with them on the 05's, just later models. Thanks for the heads up.
