    Fireworks

One year I dropped a couple of C notes on the best kit and it was pretty nice. Took a while to light it all though. The perma-smile on my 6 y.o. boy's face was worth it. However, there was the dilemma of where to light them. I live in a condo, so had to hunt out a suitable spot. Any...

    Is hypocrasy a life sentence?

It's amazing what a little introspection can bring. Humility. Empathy. Civility. Some say ignorance is bliss, but I'd rather be conscientious and know what happiness is. You are most happy when your actions align with your values. Cheers!

Your "Macgyver" moment. With your own definition.

Re: Your "Macgyver" moment. On a canoe trip some fellow paddlers breached rocks in some rapids. They flipped and the canoe, with all their gear in it, took some water. This caused it to be pretty heavy. It then proceeded down the rapids and eventually got wrapped around a rather larger rock...

    Running from police.

Okay. Maybe we should start a new thread and call it "When has the local law been gracious to you?". I was spot checked at KC and had forgotten to make sure my paperwork was with me. The officer could have cited me for each piece of compulsory paperwork that I was unable to produce. Instead...

New Riders, Here Are Your Bikes

Factor in the different rake angle on the forks as well. As the angle from ground to fork increases, the wheel base decreases along with the centre of gravity, which increases the sensitivity and narrows any margin for error. Add to this race suspensions which becomes harder and setup more for...

    Battery Suddenly Died :(

Check for a loose connection. This can result in a point of high resistance, which then draws a lot of current causing heat and furthers the issue at that point. A good spot to check is the connector at the main battery fuse point and the regulator-rectifier. Cheers!

    The Random Night Ride 2.0

Decided to end my night run with some KC chit chat. Okay. Forget that. The only chat I'd be having is with about a dozen of our finest. I've never seen so many cruisers in there before.

    Parking lot practice

The center of gravity gets closer to the ground as the angle of rake on the steering is increased. That is, if you imagine the ground as the bottom of a triangle, and the forks as one side, then as the angle increases, the centre of gravity from ground decreases or gets closer to the ground...

    Holy wheel wobble Batman!

dampers are logarithmic in the way they control rate of change of steering. next time you have the opportunity to check one out, try moving the steering slowly. you can feel a bit of resistance, but are still able to move the steering. now increase the rate of movement, and you should notice...

Got a Ticket - cop lieng about reduction?

Do some reading... http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/dandv/driver/demerit.shtml Pretty sure he's saving you the points. And the fine is what? Barrie posts fine of $2.50/km over (http://www.police.barrie.on.ca/node/78), which makes that a $25 ticket, but I'm unsure what other regions cost...
