    wasp cam

For a camera on a budget, I've heard good things about the sj1000 and sj4000

haha - eat your heart out TO :)

I considered moving to Vancouver for work (transfer opportunity, basically). I thought it would be awesome to escape the snow of Toronto, but on further research, Vancouver has cloud cover 90% of days outside of July-August, and that just doesn't work for me. I'd rather sunny and some snow than...

How do I bring a motorcycle home

Oh yeah, if you have a car, a hitch is the way to go. Best investment I've put into my car has been the hitch; a motorcycle trailer is around $20/day to rent.

How loud is too loud? What will get me in trouble?

I tried, and my phone wouldn't go past like 86db, I guess that's the mic sensitivity threshold. I'm just about ready to buy one, test, then return it, but the only place that seems to sell a sound meter is the source, and it doesn't look super high quality.

How loud is too loud? What will get me in trouble?

If I'm cranking it, and you're on your front porch 5m from the street, you might have to speak up, yes. When I'm near houses, I try to keep it down in 'putter' mode, and at idle I find I can still talk normally just fine. I've yet to do a real analytical side-by-side with the Harley, so I may be...

How do I bring a motorcycle home

If the vehicle is not in your name, yes, they can, temporarily (while you get the papers in order). Don't have time to dig up my source, but dealerships have confirmed this as well.

Powered Kickstand For a Motorcycle, Interested? Feedback?

Not sure what the need is, other than safety maybe (avoiding leaving it down). Powered centrestand would be good.

How do I bring a motorcycle home

Call insurance, and if the plan is to replace your current bike, swap the insurance. Plates can be on a different vehicle legally, as long as insurance is valid.

    Foggy Helmet

Pinlock. There is no other way. Only time I got a wee bit of fog with the pinlock is when it's *really* cold, and I just get a spot right at the bottom in the centre, though that could just be my pinlock not seating right.

How loud is too loud? What will get me in trouble?

Exactly what I do; I live a 5 minute drive from the country, so I try to avoid cranking it out 'til I get there.

Small cruiser = Big/medium standard/sport touring. What gives?

Lol wow, age? What's your discount group with TD MM? That's impressively low anyway, even my dad is paying nearly $2000/year on his Ultra Classic (103 CI, just under 1700cc), of course, that's a premium bike with a depreciation waiver.

    Today, I rode a Harley

So you're saying you take issue with cruisers in general? They're much more to the 'roots' of motorcycling than any sport bike...

How loud is too loud? What will get me in trouble?

Ok, fair enough, looks like Caledon has adopted SAE J2825. I'll probably be fine with that standard (I'll have to run some tests later...) but I think I'll stay off the forks anyway. My pipes *do* have baffles. They're the ones that come with the cobra pipes. I imagine I could quiet them down...

How loud is too loud? What will get me in trouble?

It seems it's really difficult to get a solid answer on this; Toronto even has a page with some info stating that there *can't* legally be a bylaw that gives an actual decibel threshold (something about quantitative sound vs qualitative). So, I've got Cobra speedster longs, thunder mfg intake...

does anyone have collision on their motorcycle policy ?

I've got collision/comp. $300 deductibles. It's such a small amount compared to the rest of the premium, you might as well get it. I think it was like a couple hundred for the year difference; at $3000/year without, it's not a big difference.

    How old are you though?

    Today, I rode a Harley

Question: those who don't know why anyone would want a Harley (and I get that, I really do, because as a home mechanic, I'd never want to work on an imperial bike, let alone one that rattles its own engine loose), is it the cruiser styling, or something else about Harley?

TWO TYPES OF RIDERS - the kind that's been down, and the kind that's goin' down!?????

You'll fall, or you'll drop your bike, I guarantee it. You may not be damaged, the bike may not even be damaged, but you'll fall someday.

    Bike run over by cab!

I'd give him a chance, but keep a short leash. He has *much* more motivation than a normal person to keep it off the record, and could very well be willing to put down a couple grand. If he says one word towards bargaining with you, tell him you have no problem reporting it.

Working on a motorcycle on the street. Does it break any laws?

That would be funny and terrible in my neighbourhood. Without exaggerating, about 90% of the houses on my street park vehicles on the boulevard, wheels off the sidewalk and curb, but overhanging. And there's no other option for most of us too...It could very well cause half the neighbourhood to...
