Riding here is fantastic. Little traffic in the mountains, no police, and twisties for days in every direction. You dont need a tour guide, just rent a bike bike and explore on your own.
Avoid Feb to April because the pollution is very high and its 45 degrees c every day. May - August is rainy...
Rode a street triple r from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Thailand. Took 11 hours and 800 km. I was happy as a dog when I got home (in pain but happy), there is no chance this kind of ride is doable on an SS. I've ridden across Canada on a Tuono before. If I wanted wind protection id drive a car.
The best bike for Ontario is a decent touring rig..... to get OUT of Ontario. I can also see an argument for riding small displacement bikes or scooters as commuters in the city if you dont care about breaking the no filtering law's.
Never had an SS ... Never will. Naked / half faired bikes 1000 cc + is where its at. My current Street Triple R is pretty fun too, just need to get used to revving the engine more.
I swapped bikes with a buddy last week and got to ride the 650 for about 50km of tight twisties and some back roads in Thailand. The bike is very smooth and effortless to ride. Its very comfortable as well. Only problem is that it was so dull and boring to ride. It is not exciting at all, I may...
I'm with the remove the helmet law's and let people make their own decisions camp, maybe just mandate helmets on the 400 series roads. Riding without a helmet is only nice at slow speed like up to 60-70km/h anyway. 80km - 100km open shell feels good. Above 100km/h full face 100%. This is...
Thanks Rob
Life has been a non stop adventure since I left Toronto in 2016.
Who knew that a 150cc underbone bike can make me just as happy as my Tuono that I had back home.
Hey guys,
Been ages since I posted on this forum but I though id share about my riding adventures in Northern Thailand. This country is basically the epitome of riding culture. There is more bikes then cars on the roads. You can split, filter, and do all kinds of stuff that would quickly see...
Just did a cross country and was soaked 5 out of 6 days. I feel your pain. Keep pushing on pushing and dont give up.

Mine was originally a US bike. They never made it to Canada. Its a 990 Rotax engine. Pretty much bullet proof.
I tried to sell it earlier before I was committed to this trip but after the trip to North Carolina, it came off the market.
The bike has good comfort for long days but absolutely...
Ye I went on the Crowsnest HWY. It was ok on the Alberta side but Once I got to BC and especially the Kootenays...its just spectacular.
Calling it a night at Grand Forks. Time to top of the oil and adjust that chain again.
This old Tuono is holding up pretty good. Only used about 500ml of...
British Columbia is on a whole other level. The scenery, the twisties, the 100km/h speed limit everywhere.
This is the promised land!!!
