Assuming you're in a cage yourself. CG says, "driving along", not "riding along" but doesn't specifically state your vehicle type.

Go for the kid. Lower body count. One kid or at least 2 people (driver of other car and yourself) or X amount of people waiting for the bus. Besides that, I'm sure the other 2 options (sidewalk or oncoming) would put the driver into some kind of legal/liability mess.
