Just don't eat it and you should be good. Not sure where you're getting that it's toxic. You shouldn't breath the fibres or eat it but it isn't radioactive.

Ducati Maintenance, is it really that bad?

I can't comment on Ducati. My 30,000 km maintenance on my S1000RR was about $600.00, which I found reasonable. I'm not finding costs any more than I was paying for Honda servicing, but I haven't done a detailed analysis. Interesting thing about parts for BMW, I paid about $3.00 for a bolt for...

How to fight a radar gun speeding ticket?

If it were me, I'd follow the normal advised steps for proceeding to court. I.e. get disclosure first. I'd talk to the prosecutor on the day of court and advise I'm going to plead not guilty and that your bike was not capable of achieving the speed your charged with. I'd question the cop...

    Court Question...

While it might be cathartic to tell someone to F off, you have far more liklelihood of making an impression and making your point to use civil language. Swearing at someone just puts them into defensive reaction and they dismiss your point based on your language and adversarial nature. If...

bike vs. big rig truck (accident on the 18th)

I suspect because he was there and the cop wasn't. Not sure why the OP needs disclosure to verify the cop wasn't there. Hmm, although if your referring to the "presumption" part, how else would you describe the cop laying a charge for an event they have not witnessed? They must be presuming the...

ss and dirt bikes are big in GTA theft, but what about the rest?

I think the coppers should spend more time at track days checking VIN's or the lack thereof. Might dry up a lot of the demand. I have found it interesting that when I started riding it was HD's that were stolen far more than anything else. The wisdom was that was due to gangs wanting them. Now...

    Emergency braking

No one I ride with, no. People I've talked with, particularly new cruiser riders, have said they've been told by their "experienced" friends that the front brake is a hazard and should not be used. They are also advised to lay the bike down to avoid a collision (which is insane, but there ya...

advice on how to ride through different road conditions.

You get the same action, but even more pronounced, on open steel web bridges. Just relax. The bike wants to stay up, all by itself. So long as you don't screw with it, it will get through most things just fine. You may also want to get used to the feel of the rear wheel sliding a bit, as noted...

    Emergency braking

Well said. But, like most things with motorcycles, your common sense or use of physics will not dissuade anyone from their beliefs. Once someone has some idea lodged in their head, you will not get it out. As an example I've spent way too much time trying to convince some cruiser riders that...

Can my previous employer contact my current employer and say bad things about me?

Interesting, but you aren't addressing the core issue. In your first example, you are raising a possibility that may occur. Fair enough but it's pretty unlikely and easily protected against. Your second example citing the Criminal Code is an article addressing spy devices. Applying in the way...

Indonesia bans women from straddling motorcycles or holding onto the driver

You're aren't likely to find such fine camel cavalry in Indonesia. You also don't need to go so far as Indonesia to find authorities trying to control women and their behaviour. Misogeny is alive and well and living right here in Canada. Just peruse some of the posts on this forum.

All Motorcycles Should Have Air Horns!!

Well played! I almost never use my horn. If I have to rely on the other person reacting to my horn to save my hide, I'm doing something wrong. When on my bike it is FAR more reliable to grab a handful of brake or throttle and get out of the way than to honk at some idiot. And honking so louldy...

Can my previous employer contact my current employer and say bad things about me?

This isn't the first time I've heard that expressed on this forum but I have never heard of any problems with presenting such evidence. Can you provide any further insight on this? It is legally recorded if one party is aware of it. What cause can someone have to object? They have no...

Fishing Charges?!?! anyone have any experience?!

I think anyone fishing illegally should have the book thrown at them. I don't think some folks realize just how bad the situation is in our waters. There are serious concerns that a great many species of fish will be extinct within a decade or so. It's already too late to reverse. Then those...

    Bike stolen!! Mv f4

Sshhhh!! That was supposed to be a secret! Although, now that I think about it, the green ones, like mine, need a key. ;)

    Bike stolen!! Mv f4

Many (most?) bikes require a key to open or remove the seat. Many don't. Many just need you to use a wrench. If your's requires a key and that's the only style you're familiar with, it is hard to comprehend how you can remove a seat without a key. Check out some other bike seats when you get a...

    Bike stolen!! Mv f4

I think you're missing the point. Many bikes do not need a key to open or remove the seat. All you need is a wrench (i.e. allen key). But, from what I understand about professional bike thieves, they don't care if your bike is screaming at them or not. They just take it and put it in their van...

Can my previous employer contact my current employer and say bad things about me?

While it is true that some employers will not provide a reference due to concerns with liability, that doesn't make it a reasonable practice. There's no reason that I can't provide a reference, if requested and authorized, to a potential employer. If you have a record of poor attendance, your...

    Deadly Roads

If I'm not mistaken most of the fatalities at the Gap were cruisers.

Guelph - Motorcycle noise by-law coming.

Where was this? In Toronto in the '70's I don't remember anyone being frightened of people riding Honda's (other than maybe some old lady at a crosswalk). The only bikers that ever were threatening to people of my circle in the '70's were the Paradise, HA and others.
