    Good Samaritan Road Cleaning

You may want to review case law on this. I have. I believe you'll find that I was correct in what I wrote above. Btw, in most municipalities the employees are provided with immunity and indemnification for acts in good faith so the individual would not be on the hook for any damages, even if...

Peter Cheney from Globe Drive strikes again with horrible advice...

I'm not impressed with this guy at all.

    Good Samaritan Road Cleaning

The municipality is not going to be worried about claims against them. Sand on the road in Ontario is not exactly unusual and drivers should expect to find it at any time. The municipality is more likely to be getting complaints if they DON'T sand, not if they don't clean up the sand as fast as...

Just got a speeding ticket while passing a slow car....really?

Good point, but then again, EVERYTHING is contrary to HTA 172.:D That's the glory of it!

Just got a speeding ticket while passing a slow car....really?

What I do wrong is pass people because I ride/drive +15 - +20 on two lane roads and most people drive +5. Most people get upset for some reason. I believe, from talking to many of them, that they feel I don't need to be going faster than they are and they will teach me a lesson by making it...

Legal age to buy a motorcycle?

The Matchless wasn't vintage when it was offered to me in 1972. It was a used, slightly beat up Brit twin. Now, it's worth a fortune. Then, I could have had it for $200.00. I'm not saying a ZX9 is going to become valuable in future. But worth is in the mind of the beholder. I dunno why the OP...

    Good Samaritan Road Cleaning

Well said. I don't understand some of the concerns some people have about this. Would you people not stop to pick up a piece of lumber lying in the roadway and remove it? How is sweeping sand any different? Again, well said. And the OP isn't responsible for some inattentive driver...

Legal age to buy a motorcycle?

I wish I'd bought the 1966 Matchless I was offered when I was 12. I should have stored it for 7 - 8 years and if I did I'd still have it. Or maybe a 1952 Vincent? The ZX9 is a nice bike. It will still be nice in ten years. I stored a bike I loved for 13 years. Why is this idea so foreign to so...

Just got a speeding ticket while passing a slow car....really?

I speed up a lot when passing - due largely to the fact that almost everytime I do pass, the jerk I'm passing speeds up dramatically. Almost everytime. Also, the most dangerous thing about passing is the time you're spending in the opposite lane. A wise person limits that as much as possible...

    Moving downtown, where to park?

Violation of the Fire Code to have two vehicles in a parking spot? Really? And what possible safety purpose would be served by restricting the number of vehicles parking in a spot? And, just so you know, it is definitely NOT a Fire Code violation. :D For the OP, you might check into...

Ladies, would you rock these boots?

They're Dainese Torque Outs. GP Bikes carries Dainese boots at a competitive price.

    Congrats to Aprilia

Just a suggestion, but if you don't want to come across as a pompous Aprilia fan that slavishly worships the brand you might want to tone down your bashing of other bikes and your defensiveness around any questions people have about your comments. I'm sure I'm not the only one that read your...

Ever had your new to you bike scare the pants of you?

I hear ya. I had the same bike and it scared me more than once. Left a bit to be desired in the suspension department, IMO, even with a fork brace.

    Too old to ride?

Who wants to hold onto youth? Youth sucks. I just want to stay healthy. And riding a sport bike has nothing to do with youth, IMO.

    Too old to ride?

If you become out of shape when you turn 40, your choice or ride is the least of your problems. If you find riding a sport bike hard on your body, you're doing it wrong. I can ride all day on a sport bike but a cruiser would kill me within an hour.

Suzuki Boulevard M50 Drum Brakes... are they OK?

I had a bike with drums front and rear. I will never have another. I don't ride a cruiser so my opinions are qualified. I'm not concerned with what type of brake is on the rear. But, I want excellent brakes on the front. I don't understand the comments that if it isn't a sport bike it's okay...

Ladies, would you rock these boots?

I'm not a woman so my post is probably irrelevant to your question, but, I find these to be sexy as hell on a woman: High heels are fine with lingerie, spandex or a nice dress. Not so much on a sports field, in the woods or on a motorcycle, IMO.

    gtam lawyers chime in.

Seems like not a bad outcome for you. You may have been able to cause enough question as to whether you caused the disturbance or were caught up in it by the other guy's actions to prevent the Crown from proving their case. But you would have been wise to have a lawyer to do that. You can't...

What do I need to know for buying a helmet online?

We seem to have had completely different experiences buying helmets in stores. I've never gotten a "display" model nor seem that the ones on display are offered at a reduced price. I have asked to try on a helmet and had the salesperson get one for me, from a box, to try on. I've then worn that...
