Buying a bike from a used dealership

If the bike is being sold certified i.e. "fit" then the seller will provide you a safety certificate that is signed by the mechanic that inspected the bike. The seller will also sign the vehicle portion of the ownership and give that to you. The seller will keep the plate portion. The seller...

Honda cbr new battery wont start.

Just be glad your bike is fuel injected, otherwise you have the whole petcock setting thing, which creates all kinds of "man do I feel like an idiot" opportunities lol

    New Bike questions

It is safe to ride as long as you realize you have less grip on colder pavement, and that tires take longer to warm up, and therefore you should ride less aggressively and stay very aware of available grip as you ratchet up the traction demands you place on the bike. Do that and you can ride...

National Post Article re Excessive Noise

The article could have done without the above quote, turns the article into something akin to overly loud motorcycles.

Please sign my petition to allow straight pipes in Ontario for rider safety

Not signing a loud pipes petition. I don't understand why, even if noise saved lives, it needs to be exhaust noise. And this is from someone who loves a "tasteful" exhaust note on any vehicle. I WOULD sign a petition to allow filtering.

If you bought new, then I'd say 30% less than the OTD price.

    M2 test

are you talking about M1 exit (to M2) or M2 exit (to M)? I'm guessing M1 Exit since you posted in the new riders forum... Either is pretty easy as long as you have taken some time to become proficient and read over some of what is expected. There are a lot of threads that detail what is...

    Smallest touring motorcycle?

You'll get used to the shifter being smallish and close, same with the peg position, some people move the pegs lower. I had a 2010 V-Strom and I can tell you they just eat up the highway miles, did some fire roads and gravel no problem. It's a little heavy for true off road especially if you...

I don't know guys, some of you are being a little hard on the OP, his biggest sin is he is being pretty honest about his experience. Didn't all of you have a moment like this when you started riding? Whether you went down or not, I know I did. My opinion is this, sid_, give yourself time to...

    First ride?? Advice please??

Many start with something smaller, acquire a reasonable level of skill, and then move on to a rocket (like an R1). I recommend taking a course, then buy whatever your resources and manhood allow :)

How's the Durham College M1 exit course?

I did it a long time ago at Durham College, the bikes are probably still the same ones though, they were mostly dual sports 125cc, 200cc, 250cc. I think the only cruiser I remember in the lineup is the Marauder, if I were you I'd choose one of the dual sports for the course.
