    What have you learned?

+1 as well, currently wear wicking stuff all year round when doing different activities but will have to get some of Aliki's product. I know the effect from wearing nylon stuff from many years of watersports activity.

who rode into work today?! - 7/31/12

Rode in as well, came in early this morning when it was sunny, wore my rain gear though.

    What have you learned?

At speed I usually will start with a very light rear brake application as I find that under sketchy situations the bike settles better in a straight line and allows a nicer front brake application. The reason is probably the initial rear application causes the front to lightly preload, the...

    What have you learned?

Definitely agree on the practice part. I also use both brakes on the street, and like you I would think the proportioning changes throughout the braking cycle.

    What have you learned?

I hope one day to get a bike with defeatable ABS (the new Bosch ones even better, KTM 990 SMT.....yum)

Monday Meet Up for Ice Cream, Dessert, and Sweets! 3.0

Anytime after 7:00 PM I would say. All depends on when people leave work/home and how close they live.

    The Childfree Movement

+1 that is very true. I do feel those that don't have kids likely don't understand kids, yet they are so simple to understand. Just take a grade A example of the childless movement, make them smaller and change their want of grown up toys to children's toys :D, adults b&#ch and moan as much as...

    What have you learned?

I agree that if the rider knows how to brake but that's not true enough for the vast majority of riders in my opinion. Given that I think the avg rider will not out brake the avg driver just because of a cars inherent stability and safety systems. All the driver has to do is hammer the brake...

    The Childfree Movement

+1 If I knew how much fun kids were I would have had more than the one I have now. Let's put it this way, I think all those parents who love being parents and love their kids would say without hesitation they would die for their kids. No way in hell i'm laying my life on the line for a SUV or...

    What have you learned?

No issue with my braking so far, I have ridden my mtb with full hydraulics down enough sketchy, steep, muddy, off camber downhills to have good brake control...:D but I can't remember off hand at the moment where I found it, but there was some info on the general braking ability of a bike...

    Have you dropped your bike?

In slow corners, avoid dropping the bike into a lean and relying on throttle to pick you back up if you are not sure of what is in front of you. As well try to look ahead and into the corner so you can scan for debris, do not look down directly in front of the bike. If you see an obstacle or...

    Dropped Ninja 250R

I have a Ninja and I also bent my shifter peddle once before. Make sure the pedal clears the rod attached to the shifter. If the pedal was bent under the actuating rod and you bent it back make sure it isn't impacting the rod and preventing the shifter from moving up far enough. If that's ok...

    Random Night Ride 3.0

Gotta try and get in on this one of these nights. Really enjoyed the ride after last Burrito Boyz...sigh not enough hours in a day these days

    What have you learned?

As I add to my experience, the need to maintain distance becomes even more obvious. Not sure how many riders know that a bike does not brake well compared to a car, and I mean just about any car. Also the notion of safe distance seems to translate to 10 feet behind a car at just about any...

    Earplugs

++1 from someone related to an audiologist, and it is permanent. If you already have a ringing in your ears when it's quiet, too late likely, you are on your way.

    250 riding group

That's exactly what I thought as well, thus my wait a minute comment. Congrats if it all works out, they are the best, wouldn't know what to do without mine.
