So how is the the Bonnie as compared to thruxton, I'm sure there are similarities...I'm thinking of adding the new 2016 R with the front cowl maybe in a year to what I have now.

I went down down to fla with a thruxton in a grand caravan last winter. Tie a strap on the front axle to handlebar, crank down, remove from plastics and clocks (I did) should be good. Best way to transport a bike.

There are threads on this subject from several years but you may consider as someone above has suggested the harbor freight folding trailer. At the time I had paid less than 300, maybe 400 total with all hooks, chock,etc..
I have no trouble whatsoever pulling with my mini. It folds up so takes...
