    Thinking of scootering

Seeing if I can get some advice, I'm thinking of buying a scooter. Mainly to go camping with, either by itself or loading into my pickup. My dinosaur of a bike is totally undependable outside the city and it's too heavy for me to load/unload myself. I can't afford much over $1000 which is why...

    Motorcycle Security

You can have my 1984 VT500C for $1000. Totally serious. It does go down the road, but just know that if you plan to do any highway riding to pray to the motorcycle gods before leaving. One piston knocks, it burns oil and one of the turn signals is duct taped on. It weighs 450lbs and may be the...

    GTAM Camping

While I love camping my bike is prone to breaking down if ridden any real amount of time and I've used up my CAA tows for the year. Will be at the Pinery this weekend for the races at Grand Bend, but unfortunately via truck.

    Motorcycle Security

I have the Spot-Trace unit mikeherdes linked to mounted under the seat. Not that I expect anyone to want my often broken banged up dinosaur of a bike, but it's nice to have. It doesn't really do movement alerts, but if you check it the app will let you know where it is. It normally updates every...

Three-year-old girl injured after impaired e-bike crash in Thorold - douchebagg

Tuesday coming home from work I saw a woman about 45-60 on a scooter/ebike with a young girl on her lap. This was right by a school at around 3:30 so I assume they were going home. Now the bonus is that they were riding on the sidewalk. In the past week I've seen 4 scooter type machines going...

50 shot dead - Orlando shooting

Please amend the OP to not include the killers name. These scumbags don't deserve any recognition and the newsertainment cycle encourages copycats by making them famous.

Snake oil and carb cleaning help

Did 12 hours in 50:50 pine sol and distilled water for the float bowls and jets. It worked well as a degreaser, the bowls are much shinier then the rest of the carb assembly, the actual grime I had to scrub out with a toothbrush. Luckily the gaskets survived, well so far. Can't go out right...

My bike is up for sale. Just got these emails. Possible scam?

There is no "they", it's a bot. The only time a human becomes involved is when a seller gives the bot a paypal address.

    Tinder App

Back when I perused POF (might go back) every several days I would get a message basically saying "hey I really like your profile, it says you own a car. Tomorrow I have to get to X would you give me a lift?". Now I don't know if these were joke accounts, but getting into some strange guys car...

GWS- Motorcyclist struck by tire = Durham

I'm going to say GWS instead of RIP since the article states both drivers are still alive although injured.

Snake oil and carb cleaning help

The orange gunk is everywhere, even in the fuel lines. It would be much easier to do a full dip. I bought 6L of original Pine Sol and some distilled water. Will do a test dip on the float parts tonight, if it works I'll put the rest of the carb in tomorrow minus any plastics. FLSTC - Nice...

Snake oil and carb cleaning help

So a few weeks ago one of my pistons started knocking. Now my bike is an old cheap dinosaur and if it only survives till November I'll be happy, so rebuilding the engine is probably out. Anyway to combat the knock and being a retard I put in some of this octane booster...

Thoughts and Opinions on 1985 Honda VF500C Magna V30?

As the owner of an 1984 VT500C, I can say parts exist. Any generic bike parts (cables, filters, etc) will fit, anything really specific just look for someone parting one out. What Zoodles said in the last sentence is right. I've spent most of this week rerouting cables after noticing several were...

18 YEAR OLD GUY WITH M1 - is it worth it??

As pointed out option B is fraud, so if caught forget ever affording insurance again, same for your dad. You probably wouldn't save anything either, your dad is considered a new rider it doesn't matter how long he's driven an auto. His rate would only be lower because of his age, so him+you on...

    Vanishing oil

It says 3L for a rebuild, 2.5L for a change. Took out the air box this morning. No oil in there, but the filter was full of plant bits. Cleaned the filter with solvent and gear oil, but put some tears into it so I'll order a new one. I'll just keep topping off the oil.

    Vanishing oil

Alright I'll check the air box tomorrow as well. I can't see having overfilled the case, the Clymer manual states 2.5L and I added that amount exactly, the reading on the stick was 100% where it should have been. Now there's hardly anything in there, I added the last ~400ml I had left this...

    Vanishing oil

Yes it's an old 84 Shadow 500. I pulled the spark plugs out Wednesday evening and 3 of the 4 where black as night, but with carbon not oil. The other one looked (almost) new. I cleaned some of it off and the bike starts better, but I still bought new plugs and will replace them tomorrow. There...

    Vanishing oil

Hi, my bike appears to be burning oil. I did an oil change in late April, using Rotella T3 15W-40 and a K&N filter. The bike had the right amount then, but now is very low. I don't see any leaks on my garage floor or parking space at work. Google indicates it's some kind of gasket issue. I...
