Yes insurance companies are fickle. As I stated on the "other" post. A bandit 650 is classed as a sport-touring bike, the replacement GSF 650 as a sport bike. Essentially the same bike other than a side fairing.
I would also suggest the FZ6 over the FZ6r. I found the newer bike lacking...
You can register at "Fit" and "Unplated". Bring in a safety and that's it. No insurance, no plates. Make the return trip when you want to put it on the road.
Stay away from "Irreparable", "Salvage", or "Rebuilt" as in Ontario it can NEVER be put back on the road - no matter what you do with it...
A rather intangible stat considering not all pedestrians are in traditional traffic areas - i.e. highways, walking along major streets.
But I do concur and bow to your wisdom. I was just trying to get the stats working in our favour :).
Way overpriced and too small.
I'd like to see someone in the target market kick start anything. Just got back from the deep south and they now force you to take a "guide" with you on a catamaran. We're losing the ability to do anything ourselves. I'd like to see someone, again in the target...
Good point Morrissey. I don't think it's a matter of what you ride so much as how you ride. Meeting up with a group, or "trippin" with a partner is appealing, but to actually ride with more than one other person gets tricky - either too fast or too slow.
I was on a 6-guy trip a while back and...
Had the 900 custom. Liked but not loved it. I felt like I was strapped in a birthing chair. Also the skinny front tire seems to track every pavement break in the road. The "Classic" is a little more traditional both in driver position and tire size.
Someone also mentioned the C50. Again, owned...
Here's my take on it ...
The government really only cares about the frame. You write off a bike, everything else can get sold and put on another bike accept the frame. In fact if the frame is GREAT, but's been written off because of body panels etc, it can NEVER be put back on the road. So, the...
I just ordered some Honda parts. Better pricing than what's out there.

Hey, a little late to the game, but have owned both.
The C50's are nice and from a resale perspective there is lots of interest so you really cannot go wrong. Nice find with the alloy's - bonus to have tubeless tires to be sure!
Just for anyone comparing the 2 in the future, I'd give the edge...
Yeah, thanks for the thread. Did the same trip to Sturgis, Cody and ultimately ended up at Old Faithful before heading home. I like the advice about pounding until things get interesting. I fell asleep late afternoon at a rest stop on my second day so I knew it was time. Heading there again this...
I've owned a couple. Really nice is what I'd have to say. Returns similar numbers to my more modern 800's, but there is something about a 600lb bike launching that's hair-raising. Ultimately the highway wind-effect of a standard seating position with no protection got to me, but for a general...
Back to the email comment.
I do always put in my phone number, but do specify the "prefer emails" which is forwarded to my phone. Much less intrusive responding - in a prompt manner - rather than immediately having to take a call for general information. After all, the add is posted...
Most of the stuff I'm listening to these days is background smooth during my work day so forgive me for not reaching into the Zeplin pool.
Not sure if it counts as a "concept" album on which much of their entire collection is based, "Wish You Were Here" (remastered) continues to make it to the...
5th gen VFR. Even though I sold my first one last year, had to pick up another a year later. Nice smooth powerband, all-day comfort, and really one of the sweetest sounding bikes around.
Bikes I've owned as Rides
1976 CB360
2000 VStar 1100
2006 FZ6
2007 Vulcan 900 Custom
2006 Boulevard C50...
When I picked up gear from GP Bikes (plug intended :), the sales rep informed us about the "number of feet" you are buying protection for. I had never heard of this. I had been riding with pretty much everything but pants, but we both ended up walking out with a pair of dainese's. The advantage...
When you start out you'll be eager so "slam-the-slab" right away. I myself would find South Dakota as is a nice break after 3 days riding. Then from there start the tour. Coming back a southerly route through Denver, sticking to more scenic secondary roads if you have time is a nice loop. I...
