Do you need the outlet by the steering column? I've mounted mine (using the eastern beaver distributor) under the seat. I have a USB cable running up under the tank and exiting directly into the device cradle. Could save you some space....

Bike in question was recently purchased by a student. After her training I accompanied her to the dealer and asked why the switch was disabled... response given by dealer is noted above.
You can find examples of "questionable" practices anywhere. Recently, a very well known downtown dealer was caught deliberately disabling the kill switch on a customer's new bike... the explanation given was "new riders find it sticky, that's we disconnect them"
again... this. Proper check for head bearing wear is to firmly grasp fork bottoms with bike upright, and feel for any play in trees while moving forks back and forth
Many things could be contributing beyond the tires. Are the rims warped? Is there play in the head bearings? Fork stiction? Preload adjustment correct?
Unlikely to make the slightest dent. Anecdotal, but I've watched three parking enforcement officers walk past the multistrada currently parked on the sidewalk at Richmond/Spadina this afternoon.
