    Dirt biking before M1 exit?

Low speed control is what M1X is all about. Practice low speed sharp turns, acceleration, panic braking and accident avoidance (lane change), accelerating out of a 90 degree turn from a stop and braking accuracy. Drag the rear brake, clutch, clutch and more clutch. Riding in the dirt won't be...

Single vs double yellow vs white line

Add me in with that group, I was taught the same way in the same era (1990): double line, do not pass.

Whats a good scenic / twisty route from Toronto to Ottawa?

The advertised 6 hour scenic route will be more (oh so much more) like 8 solid hours without rest stops & fuel included, lots of low speed turns and weaves which google doesn't account for. I know, what we live for, right? You're both going to be exhausted. I know my wife would be buying a...

Bought 2nd hand cage, emissions test / registering question

Vehicle had emissions test done last year and passed, I have record of the document. Do I have to go through the emissions process again or can I use last years document? I'm not looking to duck $35, I'm looking to duck an intermittent CEL for evap issues.

where can you buy this Wurth HHS-K high performance lube?

It's spray glue, similar to Zep 2000. Sticks like a Liberal on your wallet, penetrates decent but will cure and seal off what you lube (you'll have to remove it for the next application to be successful - similar to ONtario's political leadership). I've used damn near every spray lube commonly...

lets have a gta motorcycle forum meet ??

for me it's the part that's south of the 407, between Winston Churchill Blvd and Markham Rd, but mostly it's the part that's between 427 and DVP. It's been some time since I lived up that way, but there was some great riding on sideroads between Georgetown and Cambridge... I imagine its all...

    Motorcycle Starts... then DIES HELP!!!

I agree with most of what Gatekeeper is saying. 'Hanging' before idle or slow to return to idle is sign of potential intake leak. Second issue: charging circuit. No, you're not going to get much out of a motorcycle charging system at idle / high idle (2K rpm or less), but it should be enough...

    Financing?

Financing is the sole reason brick and mortar motorcycle dealers exist. Even if there iss any truth to the claimed 1.99% interest abkdt41 mentioned, you're still going to have your *** handed to you by any insurance company as a first time rider on a brand new bike - buying on credit means...

The unofficial GTAM 1987 CBX250H maintenance thread

Ride Report. Riceburner referred to the CBX250 as a buzzer, and accurately so. Tingling fingers start to come on at 30 to 40 minute mark at in town speeds. 4500 RPM seems to be high water mark for vibes, thankfully the wee beast hauls and holds a respectable 4000 rpm in 4th gear, good for 60...

    Spark Plug Torque wrench

It's personal preference, but I'm not big on antiseize. I prefer a couple of drops of clean engine oil on the threads, makes turning in the new plug a breeze and will keep them from locking up with corrosion if serviced regularly. Mazda encourages this with their aluminum head 2.0 and 2.2L...

    Spark Plug Torque wrench

Perhaps the air box snorkel (inlet) was moved or displaced during the plug install? Engine will definitely be throatier and sound more powerful. FWIW, 8 ft/lbs = 96 in/lbs. Find yourself a 1/4" torque wrench and a 1/4 to 3/8" adapter. This is right in the 'sweet spot' of range for most 1/4"...

    DIY Rusty Tank Cleaning

Clr doesn't work as effectively as 10% acid vinegar (heinz, food basics). Be prepared, it will flash rust as quick as you please, have a rust inhibiting spray handy or be prepared to fill the tank with gas.

Re: 23 Years Old, GM2, Clean/No Record, GSXR-600 - What are my options for Insurance?

Re: 23 Years Old, GM2, Clean/No Record, GSXR-600 - What are my options for Insurance? Op, good on you for keeping your record clean so early on. I was not so... fortunate. I'd agree with some of the other posters, sell / trade the gixxer for something a bit tamer - gs500, gw250 etc. I had the...
