Could have boiled down to liability/insurance of running a course like that. The government would surely want to get involved to ensure the course lines up with the what is instructed through the handbook and already existing approved courses. They do often have similar bike-safety days with...
Oh crap. I really had a good book lined up for you. As for boots - honestly - there is nothing good for short riders. I don't know why but every manufacturer from Icon to TCX tailors their boots to 6' + riders.
There are countless good tips, but too much is more inherent to just (in my opinion) natural 'skill' when it comes to driving/riding. Two things though:
#1 - simply slow the heck down.
#2 - be always mindful of your blocking/lane positions. I see way too many videos of raging motorcyclists...
I dunno, DemonPig. I honestly don't have any fact to back it up, but it would not surprise me that two large manufacturers get together to work out pricing and figure for an OE run they can change the compound or whatever to meet requirements of supply/cost, etc..
I can't imagine the Roadtec 01...
The government needs to solve two problems in the context of this conversation:
1) less pollution
2) better travel/commute times
Seems like we've come to the conclusion that motorcycles won't really help with pollution (though they help with oil consumption/fuel). That's fine. We're...
You never thought to consider checking on insurance rates BEFORE purchasing the motorcycle? Given the rather common-place notion that insurance in Ontario is brutal, you should have ought to have known an R6 with an M2 would be expensive. You're only hope is to bundle Home & Auto insurance...
Yes indeed warranty of parts are through the manufacturer, but warranty (if any) of service is through the installer. A highly reputable HVAC installer STARTS with one who is willing to barter. I learned that in clown-school. LOL. So I'm sure you can see what I'm getting at. Basically, the...
Love to know how the warranty on install works out. lol. Um, sorry, but the furnace stopped working. Sucks, mate. Bike is running awesome. You could try contacting the manufacturer for their warranty. Sorry, sir - you bought our furnace with a motorcycle. Take care now. Tah tah..
If plates can be seen in the video, it should be forwarded to the police. It's like a red-light camera. Regardless of the driver, the owner gets the fine based on the video/photo proof the car went through. It would be a good precedent to be set using third-party video to capture HTA offenses.
Just re-reading a lot of the posts, and it seems most agree the real issue isn't SMIDSY, but overall lack of 'skill' (using the term loosely) on both the part of motorcyclist and driver. From actual driving ability to using a cell-phone.
A healthy majority of good, defensive driving skill...
Indeed you can't judge an entire community based off you-tube vids. I'm merely offering the idea of looking to oneself to avoid accidents, and it is a good idea for everyone. For a motorcyclist it's an especially life-preserving idea. lol. Take the you-tube videos out of the mix and I'd...
What I constantly see through you-tube videos is more often than not when a SMIDSY incident happens the motorcyclist was in the wrong blocking position or riding in the middle of the lane. In my humble 4 years of riding and QEW commuting I have yet to experience any egregious SMIDSY moments...
What does a solid white line mean? What does a dashed white line mean? Rhetorical. You notice that some bike lanes are solid and then approaching an intersection go to dashed lines. Once dashed lines occur, you are supposed to enter into that lane/space when making a right turn. If it is...
