    I did a thing

I may add the panniers just for convenience but, don’t think I’ll install the front fairing. The tank has some paint damage where the fairing rubbed but, it’s superficial. I’m far from an expert but, I took it for a rip Friday and it’s smooth and everything works pretty good for a bike from...

    I did a thing

It’s got 94K on the clock but, meticulously cared for. New tires, battery, brakes, fluids etc. First owner bought it new in Europe (Belarus) and owned it there for some time and brought it with him when they moved to Canada. So it’s a true Euro spec model. It’s registered for here in...

My Harley is dumb and fun to ride... Just like your mom.

I rode with a bunch of touring HD riders and everyone of them smiled knowingly when I brought the Sporty out. No one claimed it was a girls bike but, they also achieved the age when it was no longer an appealing character to ride anytime I offered them the chance to take it for a rip. Mind...

    Art...

I’m too rough on nice things. I can appreciate art in all forms but can’t manage to care for it properly. Music, writing and poetry. Paint, sculpture, wood crafting, cuisine, clothing design, engineering etc. It all amazes me. A clean garage where I can fiddle with my toys when I can’t...

Emotional and mental health aspects of aging

While I’m not a religious person, the serenity prayer has served me well over time. And Ted Lasso’s father telling him to stay curious.

    Dougie's latest plan

I like the idea of it. Traffic during ideal weather conditions is tolerable most days. Throw in some snow, rain or ice or poorly maintained tractor trailer that jack knifes and everything in the next 20 kilometre radius is parked or worse. Feasibility study? We can’t build subways that...

    Anyone here a cyclist?

Would have been nice to know these details before the web existed as well as forums. lol. Grew up in the BMX age when feet movement was quite acceptable and road bikes were for skinny fancy pants riders. lol. I did grow older and read enough to know the benefits clips provide riders and...

    Portable 10" table saw

Dropped a couple of bills on a Delta 10” 2000 professional with stand from older fella that didn’t use it and clearing out to downsize. Now my FIL has table saw envy. In reality, I use a Mastercraft 10” chop saw 95% of the time simply because the work I’m doing around the house is rough...

Will this help HD attract younger buyers??

HD needs help in making new and exciting products instead of special, really special, one of some, new paint models. They are losing the dentist weekend wannabe market share. Pointing to failed DEI initiatives is only an excuse for a brand losing market share in a very competitive market...

any harley davidson mechanics near north york?

A couple of reasons for this with a Sportster. One is over filling the oil tank and most common. The second is the umbrella valve seals get old and don’t allow the oil to flow. Ends up going through the vents. A little bit does go through the vents all the time but, most stock air breathers...

    Normal car recommendation….

Yeah, the Forester with manual is only on the base 2.5 but, it’s still fun to row the gears over the cvt. The XT turbo does have some get up and go. I’ve had a couple of Foresters and they put up with a lot. Even the CVT has programmed shifts to “pretend” to behave like a traditional auto...

New political party in Canada launched

Miss the days when differences in politics could be debated without resorting to name calling or labeling. Policies should be debated on their merits instead of dramatic predictions of failed outcomes. Government can run deficits to build infrastructure. It makes sense. However, they...

    Getting old sucks...

It dawned on me recently that I’ve become the person I frowned upon during my 20s. I would see grey haired old dudes driving their cool cars and motorcycles slowly or kept in their garage to polish them more than operating them. I took the Spitfire down the Niagara Parkway yesterday and had...

    Insurance question

It really doesn’t affect your premium all that much. The key is, the value to replace it. Even if you say it’s worth $10k and it’s a total write off and they can find a road worthy replacement for $2k, that is all they will pay out anyways.

    What's your expirience with the Dodge/Ram Ecodiesel 3.0L, 2nd Gen (2014-2019)

I have family in Windsor retired from Chrysler and they typically get the latest toys from Stellantis. For all the dog breakfast models they have owned and cherished over the years, not one of them would chance having an eco diesel. I don’t mind Dodge trucks but, I’d stick with their Hemi...

Pause from Riding because you have Kids!

Kids are grown so it’s just the wife and I. Down to one bike but, the missus doesn’t ride with me nor does she want to ride herself. A few close calls and a couple of good friends perishing affected confidence. I don’t ride as much as I’d like but, still get to noodle around. It’s just...

Can I ride in the US with an M1?

M1 expires in 90 days. Just make sure it is valid for the entire time you ride. You must follow the restrictions of the license everywhere you travel in the continental USA. Your insurance will cover you within the coverages you’ve purchased. I would check the state laws you plan to travel...
