Motorcycle dealers make no money from bike?

Although there are some "holdbacks" and rebates for units sold, it isn't enough to rely on as income until you are a fairly large dealership, which can pose other issues depending on your location. There can also be incentives based on numbers of units moved thoughout the year. Or quotas imposed...

Motorcycle dealers make no money from bike?

I try to be very open about who I am, and will try to answer as many of these questions as truthfully as I can... I will address each page of the thread individually so sorry if someone else says the same thing before, I'll try to edit after the full thread read. We as dealers make very little...

    Local retailer that carries schuberth?

We do, Oakville Yamaha. They tend to fit quite tight for the first while, so if you do try one on, give it a solid 20-30 minutes to get a feel. The C3's are now discontinued in favor of the newer model the C3Pro. They do fit differently. The C3's are no where near $1000, the SR1's and some of...

    Yikes Yamaha! WTH?

As of this morning, no. They haven't announced the MSRP's or which models are or are not coming to the Canadian market yet. Yamaha Canada didn't option the SR400, and the US did. For some reason we didn't get the XSR700 last year either, I'm hoping that changes this year. The pricing they had in...

    Yikes Yamaha! WTH?

Hope so, it could use it. The 2016's we have in stock are the same electronics as the 15's. Nice colours this year, mind you..

    Yikes Yamaha! WTH?

I can confirm the 2016 FZ09's do not have traction control. However the XSR900 does. Looks like it might be the same electronics package as the FJ09 (this is supposition based on what I saw on the stream yesterday from Italy).

    Yikes Yamaha! WTH?

Last year they released the R1 and the FJ-09 at the same show in Italy, and they were both at the shows....

    YAMAHA MWT-9 3 wheeler

Keep in mind that this is a concept bike only. The small one is actually a production bike, with a 125. Neat machine, very confidence inspiring over "rough" terrain (cobble stones etc). I was surprised how quickly everyone who rode one got into the groove. I assumed there would be a steeper...

Update: Rider condition upgraded to stable. Probably the best news possible based on the accident scene. http://www.insidehalton.com/news-story/5934385-updated-motorcyclist-rushed-to-hospital-after-crash-in-oakville/

Run, do not walk out of that shop. With a hoist and the right size extension those can be replaced in 35 minutes...

New Rider.. Help me go shopping :D

There's a lot of good advice in this thread. I'll add my two cents for you... Helmet: spend as much as you can comfortably on a helmet. It will be more comfortable, safer (all DOT/ECE helmets are safe.. * I'll come back to this), and you will enjoy riding longer. Gloves: Don't skimp, blisters...

    RAV4 or Forester

Ask any Mercedes owner about oil consumption... Oil consumption is not uncommen. My current 2010 Forrester uses less than .5 L over 5000 kms. I have owned many Subaru's and Toyota's and honestly it doesn't matter which one you pick. They are both good. Subaru: timing belt is a maintenance item...

    Yamaha Canada - No Accountability

Sorry to hear you got given the run-around dealing with this issue. I have replaced a few cam chain tensioners under warranty (on the FZ09's) and that usually solves the problem most customers are reporting. I won't speak to how another dealer or head office handled the situation, but I can...

    The Official Election Thread

Quick update: I found essentially what I was looking for by using CBC's Vote compass thingy (http://www.votecompass.com/). Most importantly it cites the parties' positions based on what they have said previously. Grain of salt: no reporting is completely unbiased, but it was good enough for what...

    The Official Election Thread

Thanks for the links, I have come across both statements previously and what I have gleaned is his stance seems to stem from his politics first and not really based on any facts. Which is not surprising really. It would be nice if the party leaders could give their position in a clear manner...

    The Official Election Thread

I'm not disagreeing, as I have no proof otherwise... but is this just a feeling? or has he actually said this anywhere? Is his official position written anywhere? Recorded anywhere? I am genuinely trying to collect as much information about this as possible, but none of this is usable to me...

    The Official Election Thread

Extreme examples notwithstanding, I am interested in this and would like to find out all the party's stances. However it seems to be next to impossible to find where any party has out and out picked a side, everything is hearsay (... or heresy might be more correct depending on your stance). I...
