    Oakville Yamaha Closing Dealership

Hahaha, yes I am. We are actually buying a place with a (fairly) large shop on site. So I will be able to do pretty much everything at home. But it is an FJR, doubtful you will have any issues.

    Connected Battery Backwards! YEAY!

If there is a relay fried, it generally doesn't repeatedly engage and disengage... but you never know. Once all the blown fuses are replaced you will need to check the function of each component individually, then I suspect you will find out the issue is the ECU. But do your due diligence and...

    Oakville Yamaha Closing Dealership

Thank you all for the kind words and positive feedback. Working with everyone at Oakville Yamaha was an experience of a lifetime. Despite having many opportunities locally, we are headed out west... way out west. It is rather serendipitous that as these changes were occurring I had the...

Subtle release of the throttle, bike suddenly goes to engine breaking mode

Funny.. Simple stuff first: 1. Regular maintenance? Was the 21K-ish service completed? Plugs, air filter, coolant... How many total kilometers on the bike? 2. Have you made any changes to the bike? Air box mods, slip-on, air filter changes, electrical accessories... 3. Tires, brakes, chain...

    Bespoke panniers Interest

I managed to fit a set of the Shad SH36 Side bags to mine without too much hassle. They have worked great. OP: The workmanship looks good, styling isn't really my thing. But I like the fact you weren't happy with the products available and went your own way. Good on you. Sorry for the hijack.

Yamaha v-star 650 rear fender replacement (from bobber back to passenger seat)

Wheels are different too. Easiest way to tell if it is a Custom vs. Classic is footpegs or floorboards. Classics and Silverado's have floorboards. Custom's have footpegs. The seat material was a bit different between the models, but that was usually the first thing to go when the customizing...

Helmet purchase from Germany is it worth it

We have all kinds of trouble getting C4 (or any DOT approved helmets) from Schuberth this year. The ECE ones are readily available but for some reason the DOT helmets have been delayed over and over. As the above posters mentioned, the only time you might have a problem is when you cross the...

Ask for Luke, I'll be here. Anytime. I don't do appointments on Saturdays, no one shows up on time anyway.

    I Saw You: V.2.0

Whoever the yutz on the black bike wearing a black non-motorcycle jacket is on the 403/QEW combination in rush hour this morning. Just stop it. There is no reason to lane split at that big of a speed differential. I saw you almost clobber two different cars in the short span of time I watched...

    A new standard in tourers?

Expensive as hell to produce those engines. And they are gigantic. The Stratoliner/Raider motor that appears to be the basis for this motor was fantastic and a good choice. Reliable and powerful, no complaints from me on that choice. Hahaha, I thought the exact same thing. I have used the...

Help! Looking for 25mm valve shims!

I have some in that diameter, but nothing close enough to 240. I do have 230 and 250 though. Edit: when do you need them and how many? I have to refill my kit anyway and will put some on order, but there doesn't appear to be many at the warehouse.

Brand new r3 - tire flat every morning. Less than 100 km

I have seen this happen a few times. I have brought it up with Yamaha and Michelin (the tire manufacturer). The issue is the molding lines around where the bead seals to the rim. Hard to catch at PDI because the tires don't leak very quickly until they start being used. Not sure who your dealer...

We Know you Ride, But do you Shoot?

Re: We know you ride, but do you Shoot? A good friend of mine has a 783. I had a chance to play with it for a while... the action felt vague and terrible. It never really got better. It does shoot straight, once we sighted it in that is. There are some great "starting" rifles out there at the...
