    2006 Kawasaki Ninja 650R

I purchased this 2006 Kawasaki Ninja 650R (EX650) in 2011 from a dealer where they did regular maintenance on the motorcycle. It's always stored it in my garage, so it's in great condition. Front tire is virtually new, but has new rear tire and R&G Frame Sliders are included. Recent oil and...

    Beginner Bike

True, a 250 is a safer bet and won't get you into so much trouble, but you'll probably grow out of it in a few months. The CBR250R is tons of fun, but it's lacking in that pure acceleration category (speaking from experience). Don't get me wrong, a 650R is nothing compared to a SS, but it's no...

    Beginner Bike

Wife has a 2011 CBR250R which I ride and I have an 06 650R. Both are excellent starter bikes. The CBR250R is super lightweight, which makes it easy to throw around, but lacks in acceleration. Personal, I prefer the 650R because it's nimble and quick. Because of your weight and size I think the...

    Looking for wheel chock suggestions.

To keep bike(s) really stable I use a piece of wood on either side held into place with craps. It pinches the tire and not the rim. With this setup, there's no way to push the bike over. NOTE: The bike in pic below is the wife's 2011 CBR250R which I'm doing work on.

    2011 Honda CBR250R without muffler

35mm (~1.5"), which was as much as I'd go in the back for clearance reasons. It took the bike from 78cm (31") down to 75.4cm (29") which is Sherry's inseam, so she's pretty much flat-footin now.

    2011 Honda CBR250R without muffler

Yep, gave the kickstand to a bud last night so he can weld a piece on. I'll try and remember post another pic when it's welded and I have it painted.

    2011 Honda CBR250R without muffler

I cut the kickstand by the same amount as I lowered the rear of bike (35mm). I don't have a welder (yet), so I'm getting a bud to weld the end-support on for me. To give you a better idea, below is a pic of the stand cut without end-support.

    2011 Honda CBR250R without muffler

I installed a lowering link and it required removing the muffler. Lowered rear 35mm and also lowered front, adjusted pre-load, etc... I took her out for a spin, all good :) With Sherry being so tiny lowering it will gives her more confidence. We looked at a new seat, boots, but wasn't enough...

She christened it, very minor ;) What's the point of having a bike with no scratches? LOL. Nothing high temperature paint won't fix. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk

I have the Princess Auto Wheel Chock that I got for $40. I currently have the wife's 2011 CBR250R in it... I've been meaning to start a thread on this with all the details, but haven't gotten around to it.

What kinda boots do you wear?

I used to wear steel-toe work boots back in the day when off road dirt biking and they saving me more than once. I remember one time I was flat out, top speed and my left foot hooked into a railroad tie. I busted up one toe, but if I wasn't wearing the steel-toe boots I probably would have taken...
