Toronto should crack down on loud motorcycles: Editorial

Usually I can't be arsed to care about loud pipes, but I was at the Mods & Rockers ride two weeks ago and goddamn was there ever a dbag move pulled. As the bike train came off the Bayview extension (south of King & River), we noticed there was a wedding party taking pics in the middle of all the...

    I Saw You: V.2.0

Haha, I hear that. I think I've lost about four or five helmet bags thanks to the worn-out latch on my topcase.

    John Gibbons

Anthopoulos is a dead man walking after tying himself to this boat anchor with last year's re-signing. I know it's easy to play the "Fire the coach!" card, but last year was a really a blatant case of "If one student's bad, it's the the student. If the whole class is bad it's the teacher." and...

Headlights... learn how to operate, please.

Oh man, that annoys me way more than the guys with the crappy low lights. It's about as dangerous, but way more common.

    Laid-off? GTAM Members looking-out.....???

Oh hey, this thread getting bumped reminded me to mention I got let go in July! I'll have to scramble some if I don't find anything in a few months, but man, sure is nice to be able to enjoy this weather all day every day. I sure ain't going to miss working for a certain Big Red Telco. My...

    What the weather seriously!!

Man, just about every day I've stepped outside this summer all I could think was "Holy crap it's sooooooo nice out". But then I mentioned I love fall & spring most of all.

    Illegal Drivers

That's right, I can confirm that absolutely. Women have +5 added to their month on the birthday part of their license, men do not. It's another check built into the license.

    Dude, Wheres My Car!

Yep, noooot bright. Everything this guy could have done to make it worse for himself, he has. Now he has lots and lots of free add revenue! Though maybe not the sort he wanted... Too bad about losing all the old customers, but he'll soon being seeing some new visitors - like curious cops or...

    What the weather seriously!!

Although, whoops, I meant only first degree burns, not third degree! Got that classification system backwards.

    What the weather seriously!!

Yeah, if traffic is really bad stop & go, I'll shut the bike off and just walk it up. It has to be really bad for that to happen though.

    What the weather seriously!!

On my bike, when it gets too hot the fan comes on and vents everything straight into your nuts. I've had legit 1st degree burns on my inner thighs from the tank getting so hot and I know people with the same bike who've had their fuel boil. I've also flirted with legitimate radiator boil-overs...

Bye Bye Tommy boy Ford kicked out!!

To be honest both Fords have just felt kind of irrelevant lately, like no one's paying much attention to them or anything they do. You don't hear people on the street or at work talking about him. Just a sort of an "Oh yeah, Ford's still around I guess?" sense. Sure, he's got his die-hards and...

    What the weather seriously!!

My bike is water cooled, but it's a heat monster. In regular summer traffic I'm dyin' even in a mesh jacket. My favourite seasons are spring and fall - if every summer was like this I'd be in heaven. On the plus side, this year and winter has been topping up the Great Lakes nicely.

Top 10 spots in Toronto for fireplug tickets

The Globe had a feature today showing the top ten places in the city for hydrant parking tickets. We may have free parking (for now), but not in front of hydrants! I don't know some Globe journalist got himself one too many tickets and decided to zing back the green hornets, but it's nice to...

    Ride safe out there guys

I fell asleep once riding on the DVP, near the big curve by Don Mills. It was after a very long day (Montreal and back) and was at like 4 am. I still have no idea how I am not dead dead dead. If that don't teach ya to not ride tired, nothing will.

EXTREMELY GRAPHIC. Please don't watch if you are faint of heart!

I'm just gonna leave aside any moral questions for the moment and toss a lone fact in here. Opinion surveys in the US show that Israel is perilously close to losing favour with American Jews - and the divide is pretty clearly generational. Young American Jews who support Israel are clearly...

what is the best way to bypass Montreal... on the way to PEI

Certainly the roads aren't any worse than Toronto's roads now. Saldy, this isn't because Montreal's road crews picked up the pace or anything.

    A truly convertible helmet

So does anybody know anyone carrying AFX helmets in the GTA? Still interested in this, but I'd never mail-order a helmet. The AFX site is a mess as far as actually figuring out what end-retailers actually carry their products. From what I can tell the Canadian distributor for AFX is Parts...

So I bought a bike with a dent in frame and cant get safety

Agree with the suggestions. If the guy won't do "take-backsies", then take the $800, stay off that bike until it's properly rideable (that's a huge damn hit to the frame), and learn from this experience. Small claims court will be a straight-up waste of time and money for something like this...

    I Saw You: V.2.0

I've been wondering if those were a failed experiment or something. Twice now I've been on the DVP in heavy traffic and seen GO buses in the regular left lane and not that special "GO Bus lane". Not sure what's going on there...
