Oh, you mean Toronto's only hockey team?

    Toronto Raptors - 2014/2015 Season

Only team in town with a chance in hell of going anywhere this season, so hey good luck to 'em! Also: Odds on a major toronto paper running the sports section with a headline using the phrase "wigging out" this season?

when does every one stop riding??

Pffft, you guys. Just wear big 'ole grandpa glasses like I do. Easy-peasy. See? Ready to ride - and dead sexy to boot.

A little road test advice (G, not M)

@ jcbarnar: Yeah, maybe! Then again, I almost blew my M test out of nervousness since I was doing way worse than I normally would. Squeaked by in the end though. Haha, it'll do. Most of my recent practice has all been "feel the size of the car" stuff like that. Since I drive cars so...

A little road test advice (G, not M)

I'm concerned about passing my G2, not my M. I have my M. For me it's a bit different. For whatever reason, riding bikes has always been easier than driving a car to me. In any case, as I explained I can drive perfectly well and safely (well, certainly no worse than your average Toronto...

A little road test advice (G, not M)

Uh, that is completely and totally wrong-o. 'M' on your license means just that: A valid, M-class license. Not 'M-but-secretly-an-M1-haha-the-joke's-on-you'. In fact, even if I didn't have a G of any kind, a full M allows me to drive a car under conditions identical to a G1. @ Ugur: Most of...

A little road test advice (G, not M)

So I've been riding for over ten years and have had a full M for nearly that long. But I never bothered to get myself the G portion, other than having a G1 for as long (yes, it's still valid, I renew it). I can drive a car, that's not the issue, but the wife and I don't own one and I rarely have...

    Canada to help bomb ISIS

Maybe he's simply seen The Man Who Would Be King one time too many: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=57QAjpjKulk If so, I can't blame the guy. It is a great movie after all.

    Canada to help bomb ISIS

By most accounts, the Kurds are a decent bunch of people in a really ****** neighbourhood who are normally very self-sufficient but who could legitimately use a hand in this case. Whether sending Canada's flaccid little force of elderly CF-18s will do any good in this regard is an entirely...

    Phone Blacklist

That sounds good, though if the person you bought from got it on contract they could default on the contract and after a few months you'd find yourself with a locked phone. Luckily the receipt should show if the phone was paid for up front or not.

    Suing an Employer?

Suing is a lost cause here as has been mentioned, but siccing the Ministry of Labour on them might intimidate her enough to pay up. That seems like your best bet. And for sure, you'll want the ministry's help to make sure your T4/deduction issues are all clean and clear. If the taxman starts...

    Crappy Parker's Thread

Yeah, the idea that she's never reversed a car before seems... not very believable. How did she get her license? Was this someone really young or really old?

    Phone Blacklist

Used to work for a telco and this problem did cross our department sometimes though it wasn't our responsibility, strictly speaking. In any case, you can still ask me about this. Bill of sale might not help if it's personal. The original issuer might just cut it off for any of the reasons you...

The Future of Motorcycles as we know it.

Right. We've come a long way since grandma's push-button hydramatic. For that automatic to beat a skilled human, it needs to be complicated with substantial computerization. All that complexity is much more expensive than a conventional 5-speed manual, both in terms of manufacturing and in terms...

Stay away from the Forks this weekend

Yeah Grange side was the one I was thinking of. That one is off-limits for me on my current bike with the current tires.

The Future of Motorcycles as we know it.

It was true for many many years that automatics shifted slower than a skilled, trained driver could manage. However, within the last decade or so, the technology has simply improved to the point where that's not true, mostly due to all the advanced sensors and computerization.

    Custom Fabrication of bolt

Would it really take all that long to order from the manufacturer? I used to say I'd never buy parts from the manufacturer but I found quite a few dealerships will bring in a part in 2-3 days (and you're not getting same day fabrication) and are sometimes even reasonably priced (especially if...

Stay away from the Forks this weekend

If you guys are babbling about the gravel road just south of the forks with a ridiculously steep incline, I think you're safe. That slope is NOT for the untrained, especially with heavier bikes or street slicks.

when does every one stop riding??

Under +4 or +5 I find there's too much risk of ice in shadowed areas so I don't ride if it's colder than that. I don't actually put the bike away until the streets get the heavy salt treatment.
