Thanks. I'm pretty skeptical of driverless cars myself, at least in the near term. Eventually the technology might become feasible, but the cost is still a big question mark. Near military grade radars, an array of complex cameras, extremely high repair technician costs and other things might...
Not questioning you Flywheel, but do you have a source for any of that? Links? A lot of folks I know are very interested in the question of self-driving cars and I'm always on the lookout for more information about their short- and medium-term feasibility.
Also, holy crap lucky unlucky rider.
Yep. As long as the salt leftovers aren't too bad, I'll be happy to get out a couple more times when/if the weather allows.
By the same token, if the weather sucks it sucks and if I go four weeks with no chance of a ride and no hope of one, I'll be happy to put her away for the winter. Like...
I meant don't over overdress ;)
There's standing-in-the-fire overdoing it and then there's standing-on-the-surface-of-the-sun overdoing it.
The point is that lots of people think they're dressed correctly and think they're "warm" because their torso is warm even though their hands and feet...
What day/time is the meeting again? I can probably swing by.
I looked back in the thread trying to find it, but I must be missing the post where it's stated you guys need warm bodies in council.
Besides, maybe I'll get to scare Dougie again!
I can sympathize. I bicycle strictly on the street not because that's what you're legally supposed to do, but because I'm a stubborn bastard and have been cycling nearly as long as I've been alive and try to set something of an example (I even stop at stop signs! I must be an idiot!), but the...
Rode today, but that's not really worth any points. Just did some local stuff and it was clear and dry. Roads are fine for now but they might be a mess by next weekend.
If that's happening, you're overdressed. There's a balance to strike. Play with layers until you get something that works.
And how long are you waiting at the light?! I sweat at the drop of a hat and temps over 26 or so are just misery for me, but even I don't start sweating at a light just...
Snowmobile gloves here. I think they're just HTC.
Also, one trick is to overdress your torso just a bit, with maybe one layer too many. The body will try to keep cool by sending more warm blood to your extremities - hands and feet. Whereas if you're underdressed, your body will pull blood back...
Nice rides today, went out to Guelph and said hi to some folks. Though for me far too much of the ride was after dark.
Could have lived without the section of wet, grooved pavement (featuring occasional bigger, deeper grooves on a diagonal to the lane, that almost catch your tires! Fun!) on...
I kind of want to gripe about it, but I live so close to downtown that I really should be riding my bicycle there all the time and not just some of the time.
Not that I want it to happen, but it'll at least encourage better behaviour on my part. Of course I expect the city doesn't give a damn...
Saw my first full-sized electric motorbike today in Toronto, a Zero industries MX, and chatted with the rider for a while. Man the motors on those things sure are tiny!
Tomorrow might be the last day if things get really crappy over the following days, but we'll see. I won't put her away for a few weeks yet, no matter how bad it gets. Odds are still decent for a few more good riding days left and waiting a month won't affect anything of note.
I think I saw the same guy on the DVP the other day...
Whoever it was, he started tailing me so I just played it safe. I guess he was looking for something juicer than five over (I couldn't go slower because I was already falling behind traffic doing that) so he quickly whipped...
Butbutbutbutbutbut equity! It's a magic talisman! Equity means you're winning right?!
Man, seriously, every time condos get mentioned all I can think "Oh, all the problems of home ownership and none of the benefits. Cool."
