How many clicks on the bike? What was the previous maintenance done by the previous owner? How long since the last oil change, since you say this is the first time you did it. When did you buy it?

On a full tank of gas, the Ninja 250 goes for 300+ km. Seriously, just ride it out on a long ride and fill it up. Not worth the time and expense of draining it.
