    New Ford Police Interceptors

They might not. I do, it's my damn taxes. If cities are smart, they'd have someone who tracks the total costs of ownership and maintenance before buying a year's lot of police cars. The police motor is the non-turbo model so it's a moot point anyways.

    New Ford Police Interceptors

If they go turbo, hope the fleet manager track oil changes carefully and that officers are taught not to idle their cars for 2hrs at a time. Otherwise, could see some operating cost 'issues'. I bet the non-turbo 3.5L is more than adequate. Crown Vics has 215hp. Really, how fast does a cop...

The Official Ongoing Kitchener-Waterloo and surrounding areas thread

Sushi... mmmm... I found used luggage for the VFR and switched to a low-mount pipe. Just completed the fun job of re-packing a Yosh pipe, and riveting it back together with a hand riveter.

    Two wheel motorsports guelph ?

Maybe I'm in the minority. When I owned a Suzuki, I went to their parts counter a bit. They have a pretty good stock of parts and I found the parts guys helpful and willing to chat. (Tri-City was my 'home' shop - and they're great, Josh and Patti were super-helpful but Two Wheel must have...

    M2 exit course and test

Having experience with a clutch will help, for sure. But there's differences - motorcyclists 'ride' the clutch a lot more, and being uneasy with the clutch on a bike could cause you to low-speed bail. (Worse than just a 'lurch' in a car.) L84toff had a really good post. Practicing and...

    M2 exit course and test

The counter-argument isn't that you should only go to the MTO test to be cool and respected on a forum, or that you'd learn nothing in the M2 -> M course. (Since 'being cool' is what it's all about, especially on GTAM.) The argument is that there are better, more effective methods of training...

Adding a fuel gauge to a bike that doesn't have one..

True, but you can adjust and 'learn' how quickly the gauge goes down. Both of my bikes so far have had digital bar gauges. My bike gets quite different mileage in town vs. on the freeway vs. on the highway, so I really like having that gauge.

Adding a fuel gauge to a bike that doesn't have one..

I think it'd be tough. You'd have to cut a hole in the bottom of the tank, and then a flange, and then wire up a float meter, and figure out the difference in signal (voltage?) as the float goes up and down. Then, send it out to a meter on the bar. Is there a version of your bike, or a...

    M2 exit course and test

I'm a 'new-ish' rider. Started riding in 2010 and have about 15,000 kms under my belt. Have yet to do the M2. I plan to just go to the MTO. There's a rubric and videos to the test on this forum, and elsewhere. I bet that with some studying, it'll go fine. I probably have some rust and bad...

Here's a quick picture of the pipe. Still on the bike; will remove it on a warmer day!

4 stroke muffler packing in GTA ??

Yosh's spec is about every 10,000 miles? The previous owner had the pipe for three years and rode a lot, and told me it needed a re-pack when I got it - so maybe that's conservative. When you DIY on your workbench, it is difficult to do as good of a job as the factory does so maybe the...

Two Bros high mount for 1998-2001 VFR800 (Silver, C2 oval end can)

Hi there, I have a two bros pipe for a VFR I no longer need. (Went to a low mount to clear my new luggage.) Sounds great - on the loud side but it really suits the bike. Makes my VFR sound like there's a small-block 350 under the hood. Looks great on the bike. Asking $150. It's still on...

Where to buy old honda parts?

If you have patience for mail ordering, Sirius Consolidated does a lot of business in reproduction Honda parts. They have a store in Cambridge just N of the 401.

4 stroke muffler packing in GTA ??

For on-road bikes, have heard the FMF packing is not good. For my Yosh pipe, I found packing was a catalogue item from Motovan and my local dealer ordered it for $20. Have heard the same for Two Brothers pipes as well. Watch out which rivets you're sent. I was sent the wrong rivets and ended...

Is there enough demand for a middle-weight sport-tourer?

We were going 'get a ticket' speed rather than 'go to jail' speed. I hear you 'tho, it's a gorgeous road but with occasional gravel and cops every so often (but not as bad as Forks!).

Is there enough demand for a middle-weight sport-tourer?

I think there's a pro and con to be made for either the F800 or VFR. Here's a comparison of the two: http://manicbiker.com/2012/05/2008-middleweight-sport-touring-shootout-bmw-f800st-vs-honda-vfr800-interceptor-motorcycle-review/ I was pretty even behind the Yellow F800S I was following on...

Is there enough demand for a middle-weight sport-tourer?

My take on the FZ8/Fazer 8 (never having ridden one) is that it gives a bike like the Ninja 650, SV650 and lower-end Monsters but with a bit more shove, without the ludicriousness and insurance headache of an FZ1 or a Z1000. I think it hits a bit of a 'sweet spot' there. I agree that a...

Is there enough demand for a middle-weight sport-tourer?

I sure like mine. Mind you, I ride with a Sprint RS rider and he sure likes his bike too. The Sprint 955's are very closely matched to VFR's and a bit faster. With a bit more money to spend, and more tolerance for parts and maintenance, a Sprint ST 1050 would be pretty damn cool. Same with a...

Is there enough demand for a middle-weight sport-tourer?

I think there's 'sweet spots' and happy mediums 'tho. I love my VFR800, but I can't think an FJR1300, or an RT BMW is that much worse in the corners. Hell, an FJR's probably even faster. (Going off what I've heard; would love to try either bike sometime.) If I had my way and a lot more...
