2007 Ninja 650R Fuel Economy Poor

Yes sir! After this long trip, I am going to need to clean the chain and lube it. I have some lube that the previous owner gave me, but I need to buy a solvent from Canadian Tire or somewhere else nearby. The lube I have is AMSOIL MP HD (Heavy Duty Metal Protector). The manual recommends...

    Back to school 2012/2013!

I'm a kindergarten teacher. I can't wait to roll up and hear the 4 and 5 year olds scream my name.

2007 Ninja 650R Fuel Economy Poor

Signed up for fuelly, went to the cottage this week. Did about 272kms one way and filled up, it was around 11.3l. Ended up getting 4.0l/100km which is what I would expect! I need to fill up again and see how I did on the way back. I guess I jumped the gun!

Beginner Riding Fears. What was yours?

I was really scared about a month ago when I got my bike and went 60km/h. A few days after that, I went 110km/h on the 404. That was really scary! Now I'm just afraid of being pancaked by other cars and trucks.

Helmet on ground to indicate rider needs help

Page 83 in the handbook, "If you need help, place your helmet on the ground near the road. This is a signal among motorcycle drivers that a motorcyclist needs help."

2007 Ninja 650R Fuel Economy Poor

I filled up 11.xx litres in my ninja 650R after doing about 130km. According to my calculations that's 8.8l/100km. I should be getting something closer to 5l/100km. When I first started riding on that full tank I would cruise at about 3000rpm. Later I would cruise at about 5000rpm because I...

You guys make it sound so easy. I was planning on taking the test next season, but if I get enough KMs under my belt, maybe I will try to do it in September?

    First 650 kilometer day

I've done a little over 130kms after about a month of riding! I wish the number could be higher!

    What have you learned?

I've learned to never think I'm a good rider, but always one who strives to be better.

    right turn vs left turn

I nearly dumped my bike at Steeles and Bayview, I was getting ready to turn right onto Bayview, and I misjudged my speed and the angle of the turn. I reacted and grabbed too much front brake, I almost fell off. This was at the start of my ride as well, not the best way to start a ride!

They do a great job scaffolding the riding experience from start to finish. Excellent teachers! Glad you enjoyed it. Ride safe.

Went for my first ride last night

I rode back from the GFs this afternoon. While on Willowdale ave, a tiny little hatchback drifted into my lane. I had the foresight to see it coming so I went off the throttle and applied the brakes. She did a shoulder check as her right side wheels were already in my lane. She stayed in the...

Went for my first ride last night

Yeah, its also really easy to hit those high speeds on the bike. The thing can really take off in 4th and 5th gear.

    Helmet vs. No helmet

I don't need a study to tell me that the more protection I wear the safer I will be in a crash! Glad to know the science agrees though. Thanks for sharing!

Personally, I tell her that I'm more comfortable with her going to a licensed medical professional.

Went for my first ride last night

It scares me how the bike is able to get up to 120km/h and still have a lot left.
