ASV C5 Unbreakable Lever Set - Still in the box

Looking to sell a short brake and clutch lever set. They were ordered for a 2008 CBR600RR, but I believe they will fit certain other models. They are both shorty levers, black lever with black adjuster. These are brand new and haven't been taken out of the box. I paid $240 for them. Reasonable...

Advanced Riding Course with Turn 2

Not exactly sure what you mean. What would make me learn more quickly using a 125 or 250 vs a 600 cc bike?

Advanced Riding Course with Turn 2

Uh-oh...I was planning to go Monday. I tried to give them a call to see if anyone was available but I think their office is closed for the day. I could potentially get there on fri-sat-sun if I could schedule something with them. I wouldn't mind learning how to do this stuff myself, but don't...

Advanced Riding Course with Turn 2

I'm planning to take the course at Calabogie. I was planning to do the CRG course the next day, but I'm not sure my schedule/the weather is going to allow it. So my plan was to take the CRG the next time they offer it which is in 2 weeks. For that I'm thinking renting may be a better idea. So...

Advanced Riding Course with Turn 2

The rental is $240 and with insurance it comes to $365. Thats with a $1000 deductable. So if I crash their bike, I could pay up to $1365. It seems like it would take more than a low speed drop to get to over $1300 dollars worth of damage (although I guess everything on these bikes are pretty...

Advanced Riding Course with Turn 2

I am planning on taking the ARC1 with turn 2. I have never been to the track before. I have been riding full time for only 2 years on my cbr600rr but have rode other sport bikes in the past for a day or two or weekend whenever I had the chance over the past 5-6 years. So my question is whether...

    R1 vs CBR600RR...

I really think I need to ride one before I can decide. Soooo...anyone with a newer R1 willing to help out with a test ride? Obviously some form of compensation can be worked out.

    R1 vs CBR600RR...

Thanks for the advice. You're right that I am most likely not even close to riding the 600 to its potential (although ive been sporadically riding since i got my licence 7 years ago, only owned this bike for 2). I have been learing gradually and been happy with what I can do with the bike for...

    R1 vs CBR600RR...

Could you elaborate on that? Differences between the CBR and R1 would be nice since you have the experience, or just generally between 600s and 1000s would be helpful as well.

    R1 vs CBR600RR...

Thanks a lot of good info in this response. So when ppl say that 600s are 'a blast' to ride is that due to the fact that you have to be redlining the bike (or reving the nuts off it) and moving up and down through the gears constantly while riding hard? Does that mean generally on a 1000 you...

    R1 vs CBR600RR...

I commute with the bike around town, but for most of my riding I'm outside the city where I can get a mix of twisties and open road. Also planning to start doing some track days next season. Wouldn't mind trying some stunting but it's not really a priority.

    R1 vs CBR600RR...

So are you saying the R1 can perform better, but the CBR suits your needs and/or riding style?
  14. E. Honda

    R1 vs CBR600RR...

No I think I'm far from the outer performance of my cbr, especially in corners. But there are some times at higher (straight line) speeds where I wouldn't mind the extra power. I'm a bit confused though, so you're saying that a 1000 will be no faster through a corner than a 600? Why is that?

    R1 vs CBR600RR...

What exactly did you prefer about the CBR?

    R1 vs CBR600RR...

So I was found an 09 R1 for a pretty decent price and was considering moving up from my 08 CBR. I love the cbr even though its my first bike and don't have much to compare it to, but I'm a bigger guy (about 6'2" 230lbs) and figured a 1000cc would suit me better now that I have a few years...

    Bikes for tall guys

How do the bar risers affect the handling? Does it feel better (i.e. performance or comfort) leaned over in corners?

    Is this tire wear normal?

I took the bike in last night, and the people at Honda said I definitely need a new tire. They said it's not safe to be riding on that one since the sidewall has been damaged. So JohnnyP if you're STILL cool with that the tire is yours! I would feel more comfortable with a new one. I am...

    Is this tire wear normal?

Ok if you're really interested I'll let you know. I'm not sure I'm confident riding on it. To be honest though, I didn't feel the difference and didn't notice there was a problem until I got off the bike and looked at the tire. However I don't think riding hard enough to be that far over on...

    Is this tire wear normal?

Really? The issue to me seems that the sidewall is worn away, in addition to the top surface of the tire. The "Michelin Pilot...." text printed on the side is still visible, but the inch or half inch space above it is gone. When you wear down the edge, does the sidewall wear away too?
