    Pickup Trucks

Remember the days when a truck was like - a truck? There's a mid 80's pickup on my street. Incredible how much smaller they were. And with a tailgate height that's user friendly.

    BMW Season Opener

BMW rides are well done. I've done 3 so far. No hard sell after. Un related but Wolf BMW in London is now one of 4 Peak Powersports dealerships. Looks like Mark sold the place.

I'm guessing those are lower end units. I've been watching pricing on upper end B class motorhomes. Not seeing any of those listed in the few auctions I've seen advertised. Went to the RV show last weekend. So much junk being built.

    COVID and the housing market

I use hand tools everyday, all day. No romantic ideas of stunning Lie Nelson planes sitting on a shelf. When I get home I really don't want to see a hand tool. The downside of doing a "hobby" as a life long occupation.

    El Camino Motorcycle Show

Kinda cool being local. I remember buying something motorcycle related from Neil off Kijjiji years ago. Met him at his house in Toronto. Had a nice chat. Former editor of Cycle Canada. https://www.youtube.com/@elcaminotv

CRA and Bare Trust Reporting / Trust Return Requirements for 2023

Why have it a joint account? I have access to my parents accounts online and have paid bills and such on their behalf. I have been out of pocket on occasion and have transferred money to my own account from theirs. I see no need to actually have those accounts joint.

Looks like you can "share" CPP. Depends how long you lived with your spouse during the "joint contributory period". I'll have to look into this further. Income splitting opportunities for couples in retirement

That's basically what I thought. I believe the Teachers pension bridges till 65 years and is then reduced once CPP starts being collected. Everyone can income split after 65.

Just curious. Does that get reduced once you start collecting CPP? Or is CPP on top of your Omers pension?

Holdco. Take very little salary. Dividends are not considered wages and not treated as such. I've contributed most years max CPP so at my age continuing to contribute has little to no benefit so mostly I've stopped. Downside is it creates no RRSP room but I'm not contributing anymore anyway...

    Weather

Agreed. I don't recall ever having such a mild winter. We've had 2 snow events of 4" that melted soon after.

If you have a defined pension (rare these days) then you have less concern to save a lot for retirement. While you say very few have 5k/year to save, fewer can put away 14.7% of their salary. Neither my wife or I have that (like most) so we have no choice (forced) to save as much as possible.
