When I met Hudak a couple weeks ago he came across strongly as a true believer type. I personally find that scary as I do not think government should be governed by ideology.
Its still early in the season. Darwin hasn't weeded out this years crop of idiot riders yet.
The OP was passing a truck. As long as he was passing, even slowly, I don't see anything wrong with what he did. Rider was an idiot. Its the people that sit beside the truck in the passing lane that I hate.
CAA plus. Don't worry about scrubbing the tires in on the street. They will just be a touch slick for the first few dozen km's......but given the state of our roads I doubt you will notice, more likely gravel or sand you will be sliding on. At the track it one hot lap to scrub new tires in. all...
On the off chance a few of the bikes belong to people here. If you park in the Trinity lot put a kickstand plate/puck under your side stand. There is only base HL8 on that parking lot (HL3 top is in the fall) and it will become very soft as the weather warms up.
If you are comfortable, get a rebuild kit and have at it. I have never come across bent needles before (other then damaged on install by someone). Maybe someone else could shed light on that.
Last time I had to use mine on my bike it was because a chipmunk had crewed some wires while at a cottage causing a ground fault. Little bit of electrical tape, new fuse and off I went.
I use a small plastic container with a snap lid from the dollar store. Think it was suppose to be for lunch snacks. Actually use a second one to keep my GPS dry.
