A motorcycle is a TOY not a Necessity. If you need someone to justify this for you then my recommendation to you would be NOT to buy one. Motorcycles are bought by emotion and passion, not logic.

If you're really that paranoid, buy one in the store and not online.

I ride for pleasure/leisure and not out of necessity... Wearing 18 layers of clothes while riding in the freezing cold temps with snow, black ice, and morons on the road is not very appealing to me.

I just bought a '12 RSV4 R... next season can't come quick enough! Have your buddy just buy the Race ECU... Yes it's expensive but you can sell it used when you get rid of the bike.
