same thing happened to me on my cbr1000rr.
Old guy backed into my bike, knocked it over while I was at the gym. He stayed (probably cause there were witnesses), offered me $500. I laughed and said it will be thousands.

If you want one now expect to get a few hundred bucks off at the most. Mark ups on bikes aren't huge.

Honestly, don't bother renting a motorcycle there.
I was in Hawaii in February and with the amount of traffic in Oahu, it would have been a waste of money. It'd be like renting a motorcycle to drive around downtown Toronto.
