Who's still riding? (Fall & Winter 2018 Edition)

Took last Friday off of work and put on 300 miles (~480 km), riding from my home in Buffalo, NY down to Lock Haven, PA and back (PA Rt. 44). Was the much better way to spend a workday. Bike will remain ready to go until they salt the roads. Two years ago I rode on December 12th to check out a...

Shopping For A New Bike (600-750) - Suggestions?

My 2015 Ninja 650 ABS spends a lot of time in Pennsylvania twisties. Few comfort mods (Corbin seat, taller windscreen) and some luxury mods (Givi saddle bags, tank bag, USB port, throttle lock etc..) added and it's an all-day rider. Regularly run 8-12 hour days in comfort.

Labor Day weekend in North West PA

Love The Gin Mill. There was a stretch where I stopped for a mid-afternoon beer 4-5 consecutive weeks on rides (I'm in Buffalo).

    My first moto trip

Distance is so arbitrary. I've had 200 mile days that hurt and 400 mile days where I could have gone done it over again. Road type, ride time, weather...all plays a factor.

    My first moto trip

https://goo.gl/maps/ZvEr2YwfgRM2 This would be a great day trip from Toronto to the Catskills area. Ride the slab all the way to the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge. From there, you can get all the way to the Catskills on nice 2-lane backroads with minimal traffic (once you get through Lockport)...

Interesting mid way point stop -Toronto -Harrisburg PA

The Black Forest Inn in Lock Haven, PA. It's on PA-44, which is an incredible road from just southeast of Coudersport down to Jersey Shore, PA. Good restaurant, good bar (indoor and out), and good lodging. And if you havent done PA-44 before, it's an absolute must. Once you get there, you'll...

    Western New York

Awesome. Riding a FZ09? My typical day in WNY is 120-200 miles, early morning breakfast out in the country, done by late afternoon. Respectable but spirited when appropriate.

    Western New York

Now that the riding season is upon us, I'd like to say again to this forum "thanks" for some good pointers on where to ride last year on my trip up to the Parry Sound/Muskoka area. I'd like to extend an offer to anybody who wants to head down to WNY on a weekend day this summer. I know the roads...

Best type of bike for long distance commuting/touring?

Check out a used Ninja 650. Pre-2016 models are far more upright seating. Nimble around town, able to go for a 500km day. Picture in Port Loring

    407 Charge Unrecognizable Plate - $1500+

Thanks for the replies, folks. I've kind of assumed something along the lines of it costing more to send me a bill over here in in WNY as opposed to just letting it go and forfeiting the toll.

    407 Charge Unrecognizable Plate - $1500+

I want to look him straight in the eye and tell him what a cheap, lying, no good, rotten, far flushing, snake licking, dirt eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood sucking, dog kissing........"and so on. A classic.

    407 Charge Unrecognizable Plate - $1500+

Are Americans charged for use of the 407 ETR? Myself and three other guys were on it back in July from Burlington to Brampton (~40 km) and none of us have received a bill in the mail. Years ago driving up to Parry Sound towing a snowmobile trailer my dad would get billed. 3 of the 4 of us have...
