Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

You see a lot of different EVs when you spend time at free DC fast chargers. The only battery-only EV model I haven't seen is a Chevy Spark.

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

The total # of Ioniq EVs I've seen is 4 (5, if you include one that I saw on a dealer's lot). I've also seen the same # of Ioniq hybrids on the roads, so neither's out there in big numbers.

I don't know them personally, but have met a couple of Ioniq owners at charging spots near me.

Since the US federal rebate is applied to taxes owed when a person files their income tax, not everyone gets the full amount. As a result, I don't think the US Federal tax rebate has had the same kind of response as Ontario's rebate. Consequently, it doesn't seem like the manufacturers put a...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I bought and don't worry about the battery life on the Bolt because GM's record with the Volt battery is proof enough for me that I'll have healthy range for the life of the car. Nissan and VW are going without thermal management, though the "lizard" battery they're using is supposed to be...

    Question about obtaining M2

You MUST go to the Drivetest centre to get your license upgraded. You don't need to bring proof of completing the course because that is done electronically by the course provider. So, show up to a Drivetest centre with your driver's license 60 days after your M1 was issued, and tell them you...

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

I was curious about the heavy regen (via the pedal in L mode) in slippery conditions, so this morning on one of the quiet side streets on my commute, I tested it out on a slippery and ice stretch of the road. Lifting my foot off the pedal for quick regen braking very easily broke the tires...

    Electrical supplies

I've got to buy some similar supplies for the EV charger I have to install and will be talking with a couple of electrician friends. I'll pass along what I learn from them.

I am out east and will gladly drop by sometime, especially if you still have any of that highway sign grade reflective sticker material. PM me and can figure it out.

The person who originally ordered the car I got apparently ordered about the same time; best wishes and hope everything proceeds quickly and smoothly with yours!

And they just put DC Fast Charging on this year's model, which also got a bump in range to 125miles. When I was looking at what used EVs were around, some decent priced Focus Electrics came up but they were far enough to need at least one stop where you'd have to sit and charge for about 4...

Assuming it gets delivered about 3 weeks after its build, how long was your wait?

Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

So this thread really got me thinking PHEV or EV for my next car, thinking that would be a few years away. Then, I went to the EV Discovery Centre, test drove their cars and knew I wanted to get a Bolt now, mainly because I liked the car and knowing the probably outcome of the upcoming...

Plugshare.com shows chargers. Free DC fast charging with Chademo and CCS (i.e., non-Tesla) is out there, you can find it on Plugshare. Just don't use them when I need it! ;)

Yeah, we should start posting the "best" lines we can find from cable makers. I think they're at peak marketing wank!

    The audiophile thread

Rumble is the term used to describe what you're seeing (and not hearing). If you had a speaker that could reach very low frequencies, you'd hear/feel the unwanted noise. If you had this subwoofer, you'd hear and/or feel the rumble...

    The audiophile thread

I think he's getting the subsonic rumble from the turntable, as opposed to higher amounts of LF through the home theatre/digital source. Room setup might be an issue. Lots of suggestions in this Audiokarma thread...

    Quitting Your Job

If you put up with the unhappiness and overall displeasure to bank as much as you can, will your mental and physical health be in good enough shape to truly enjoy the next stage? My wife left a job where she was miserable and stressed, and is now doing something that makes far less money...
