Any GTAM'ers own an electric vehicle?

    The audiophile thread

But the really important question is what headphone amp are you using with the Senns? ;) If this thread gets too abuzz with talk about tubes, I'm afraid it's going to make be re-ignite the bug and spend more big bucks on audio gear! Right now, I'm happy enough with my SET tube amp system...

I can only imagine what you'd do if you saw this. A friend took the pic when walking to work (this was in Toronto).

That range with the 40kwh battery is based on a very optimistic methodology. The EPA range rating is likely to be about 150 miles, much like the test vehicles spotted in Europe.

In the market for a new bike

Check your physical fit on http://cycle-ergo.com/ The XSR is on the site. Listed seat height is a tallish at 33.1", but that's not a lot more than a ZX6R.

LOL, the location for a story on electric cars is a Volvo dealership, which only has a plug-in hybrid with 22km range right now. Imagine doing a piece on veganism and reporting from The Keg and holding up a salad and bread (without any butter, cheese,...)

Bolt is out - 300+ range

The first generations of Prius battery experiences that fuel the 7-8 year battery lifespan beliefs sure do persist, despite significant advances in battery tech and thermal management. I remember when the Prius first came out, a lot of writers pessimistically predicted 5 year life spans because...

    Comedians

I like Jeremy Hotz and the first time I saw him in the 90s at Yuk Yuks I stumped him on a bit of audience interaction. He was ripping on games, like Sorry and Trouble, and was getting the crowd to name more, where he'd cut those ones up. I yelled "Yahtzee" a couple of times, getting passed...

I definitely don't worry about what the manufacturers say; my Celica is rated to tow 2000lbs (no other qualifications or disclaimers) in the manual, yet a current Toyota Highlander is only rated up to 1000lbs without trailer brakes (more with brakes). Somehow a Highlander is less capable to...

Only the Tesla X is tow rated (at least over here it's the only one, don't know about anywhere else). Another example of how contrived the North American tow ratings are, here's a small EV under development over in Europe and has a proposed 750kg tow rating. https://www.sonomotors.com/sion.html

Aprillia Grey parked at Merton & Don Mills August 1st @ 11:55

LOL, I grew up on patties and coco buns from Allen's. And I still have some of my t-ball team shirts with various Peanut Plaza shop sponsor logos, including the least coveted Boo Boo's Jeans.

Actually, I just noticed you can see the B in the street sign when you zoom in on it. Sadly, I know the length of Don Mills and its entire suburban blandness too well and that pic looks too bustling and uptown upscale to be DM.

Good, community-minded thing to do! But, um, Merton and Don Mills don't intersect. Perhaps Merton and Bayview or Mt. Pleasant or Yonge?

It seems like he got an "express" order; when did he order? Some Jan and Feb orders are just getting word that late August should be their delivery dates.

Yeah, I don't think they have the same management system, though Ford put one on their Focus EV. I'm wondering how much of an improvement the "lizard" battery formulations will do. Better, I'm sure, but will they be as good as the liquid themal management systems?

    Feedback on AM Sales

Middleweight cruisers aren't starter bikes, but they also aren't the worst choices for a first bike. Anything from a Honda 750 to the 1300s are considered middleweight nowadays and would be better than starting with heavyweight tourer that will weigh 150-200lbs more.

From owners' reports, Ford's Energi plug-in hybrids are also suffering more battery degradation than others. Seems like they didn't build in as much of a buffer as GM did with the Volt.
