Toronto to Ottawa in 4/5 days, suggestions?

That sounds alright, after all I've been known to do some farting around... On second thought I want to see some decent mountains this trip so Ontario is out. Planning is really stressing me out, I think I'll just leave and see what happens. On Day one I'll head down to Warren, PA and drive...

Toronto to Ottawa in 4/5 days, suggestions?

I'm thinking of taking a little trip and wouldn't mind some input. I'd be leaving either from Kitchener on Saturday afternoon or from downtown Toronto on Sunday morning andI'd have to be in Ottawa for Wednesday evening, so that gives me 4ish days of time which I will obviously spend riding. I...

    Girlfriend doesn't like motorcycles

You're right, some good wisdom for sure. So far girly is cool with my riding and is supportive, she just doesn't want to join, but it just gets tough, for example I did a tour to hit some twisty roads and stopped at some beaches and after she also wants to go to the beach, so I have to go to the...

    Girlfriend doesn't like motorcycles

My friends always warn me that the girl you meet is a completely different animal from the girl you know after 1 year, 3 years, etc. I really wish I had all the time in the world....Maybe we should start motorcycle personals on GTAM

    Girlfriend doesn't like motorcycles

In the past I've never come across a girl who doesn't like motorcycles, except now I'm dating one. I didn't think it would bother me that much but it's really starting to get to me. She's got back/neck problems and is afraid to sit on the bike in case of a crash. On the other hand I spend a...

    For those who've switched...

Ditto. Rode cruisers (Honda Shadow, Suzuki Volusia) for 5 years and found sitting on my butt to be really painful, even with the mustang seat/windshield/isogrips/backrest I had on the Volusia. I switched to sport tourers and am on a VFR800 now and don't see myself going back. I prefer the...

I'm pretty big on protecting my skin. Spine injuries might be rare but I'd really rather avoid one at all costs.

    Question concerning turns

why not practice downshifting while moving in a straight line, then when you're comfortable enough you can do it smoothly before turning. In the mean time just downshift well in advance, revving your bike's engine a bit won't hurt it

Re: Where do you guy your gear? Recommend me the cheapest local and online retailers. Kijiji is always a good starting point, people sell barely used gear all the time so why not motorcyclegear.com is where I get most of my stuff ordered to a US PO Box
