I ride an 09 myself and I'm a big fan, most comfortable bike I've ridden to date. I don't think you'll get a huge performance boost over a 600ss but if you want a sport bike thats better outfitted for touring than this is your bike.

I was running metzeler m5's before and I think the pr4's are about just as good in the twisties. The m5's were great but they squared off so fast it wasn't funny.

I got a pair of the bull-its for $49.98 from royal, I had to go 3 sizes up and then shrink in the wash to fit my thighs properly but they worked out.

I can't recommend these tires enough. I've done about 7000km on them so far, a little over 1000km in heavy rain and about 1000km in the twisties in PA. The tires are pretty much still mint without the usual flattening in the centre from heavy slabbing. They have tons of traction in the twisties...

If you don't know what you're doing with this kind of build you will have a hell of a hard time reselling when it comes time, streetfighter conversions usually mean the bike was dropped or damaged and the owner didn't want to fix it properly....kind like the situation you're in now I'd fix it...
