Odometer Calibration - Anyone know where I can get this done?

If you have a GPS you can test your speedo with it. Just go at 100km/h (on your bike) for a while and check your gps, it should be 7% lower, so around 94km/h. If so, your speedo is kind of accurate. If the discrepancy is bigger, get a speedo healer and fix it. Your odometer should be accurate...

    Ultralight Flying

I don't want to do bush pilot, I want to get my commercial license after and try to get a job on a small airline after my career is done in the military. Or, throw the 60 000$ in to a commercial helicopter license and get a job with it. My buddy is in Bangkok right now as helicopter pilot. At...

    Ultralight Flying

I'm actually looking to do my full pilot license, the only problem, I still don't know if I go plane or helicopter. I'm looking to get a job out of it. If I go plane, I will clearly take my seaplane (is it the right word?) license also. I want to go up north for hunting and fishing :p I've been...

Just flunked my M1 Written Test

Laws between Québec and Ontario are really different. From the move over law, positioning in your lane to passing other people, a lot of thing change. I almost failed mine in Ontario but got 98% in Québec. Examples, here the girl that tested me told me to go forward, wait in the middle of an...

With my track suit its ok I don't feel it, but when I have my street gear on...it sucks, everytime I lean forward and then come back it goes up my back and just get uncomfortable. I need to get one that goes IN my jacket. I also need pants that zip...

    Valve adjustment

I actualy don't really check this forum, so I don't know the average level of mechanic here. But at least, he can get the manual, remove everything, take his measurement and if he doesn't feel safe to do it, bring it to the mechanic, half of the job is done. It's what I did, I didn't feel safe...

RELATIVE COST of motorcycle insurance (vs cars)

    Just for fun: Car, 05 civic DX: 45 000km in 2011, 2400$/yr: 0.05333$/km bike, 04 vfr 800: 20 000km in 2011, 1800$/yr: 0.09$/km But, this is not right if we don't talk about maintenance cost also: Car, 05 civic DX: 45 000km in 2011, 2400$/yr, 1789.48$ for maintenance/expense: 0.09309$/km...

    Valve adjustment

It's really easy to do. Even on my vfr 2004 its easy despite removing and installing the camshaft at least twice only to check the v-tec valve. If you don't feel confortable adjusting them, you can at least check them see if they are within spec. EDIT: Thank fastar1 for pointing out my mistake :p

    Ask for your receipt!

I agree, a lot of people doesn't understand that our education system, health care, road, public worker, waste management, 200 000 000 000$ of debt etc. Doesn't get paid by itself.

    How to escape poverty

Fixed, there's a lot of native English that just hate french and won't hire them because they are french.... I saw it. On the other hand, few employers give more money if you speak both and some may hire you faster (OPP, RCMP, anything governmental). New automatic cars are better on gas, the...

I hate eBikes.. heres the proof that a lot of them are for (lazy) Drunkards

In the meantime, do you really want to bike beside those crazy cagers? I'm happy they don't enforce those law! They can't charge you for impaired driving, but they can still charge you for being drunk on a public place right?

Plastic bags illegal in Toronto by Jan 1, 2013

If we want solar energy and other "green" energy to go somewhere we need to support it so the technologies can get better, because so far, it's like burning a liter of gas to make a liter of gas. This is how efficient solar power is. But anyway, apparently by 2035 the main source of energy on...

    How to escape poverty

1- Most of the time, it's more expensive to finance at 0% than paying cash the thing. Last year I wanted a new Honda Civic before the new model went out (the new model is ugly anyway) and the guy showed me the difference. At 0% financing it was 6$ more expensive a month than taking the 2 500$...

    Investing in realestate

If it townhouses it's not too bad, but even there, mine didn't increase in value even after upgrading it (the previous owner didn't touch it for 20 years...). At least, everybody can afford my townhouse, but a house....300 000$ is too much for almost everybody unless you want to be no-life for...

How English sounds to non-English speakers..

hahaha, yes, when you don't speak English it sounds exactly like this. Just smile and agree :D @dru9: For me everybody that was speaking English was like a Texan cowboy with 7 potatoes in their mouth, just mumbling something.

How do YOU define a Canadian

Can so-called (born here = not immigrant) immigrant stop using this excuse? First of all, Canadian was the name of all French that was born on this land 400 years ago, this is it for the history of the name Canadian. Now for this: "The land was taken from the native", everybody is from somewhere...

How do YOU define a Canadian

So, we are talking of a concept probably 4 000 years old here....Before that we use to be part of a clan, then city state, then Nation such as Egyptian and Roman. So I'm not sure this concept will disappear with 7 000 000 000 citizen on this planet. Maybe we will go back to city-state one day...

Where to buy good quality Torque Wrench?

This is totally false, even a CT torque wrench will stay accurate for years unless you drop it. I own one, the cheapest one (it doesn't click, even the manual say so) and I got it tested by our facility at the airport and it was within spec for working on aircraft after 3 years of use. Off...
