The wait is over! New bike is finally here!

That would be more misinformation... http://www.pure-gas.org/index.jsp?stateprov=ON You can get ethanol free gas at Esso and Canadian Tire as well. Be careful and read the pump though...a lot say "up to 10% ethanol".

It looks like a spiked torture chamber, imagine in an accident....2000 small holes in your head.

    Sticky Throttle

New cables shouldn't need any "lube" at all if they are adjusted correctly. Actually, I'm a firm believer that cables don't need any additional lube at all. What they came with new is best. If push/pull cables are set too tight you wont get a good throttle return either. Both cables have to be...

    Building your own bike

I agree, fraud is fraud. Misrepresentation for the "financial gain" of cheaper insurance. Not good. Now, if you have a used bike and it has a stock engine that has been bore'd out larger...what if the bike was swapped before you bought it, and you don't necessarily know that it is not the...

    Building your own bike

You can easily get a VIN for a homebuilt. I'm looking at the paperwork for an affidavit right in front of me. (Ask for info at the MTO about registering homebuilt vehicles.) Once you get it, your VIN will identfiy it as homebuilt. You will have to permanently affix that number to the frame...

Increase Ontario 400-series Highway Speed Limit

Just got back from 2 weeks of driving in Germany on the Autobahn...it is shocking how slow and bad we drive here in Canada. Even with a diesel Audi I had (that could easily do 200+) I was really more comfortable doing about 150-180 max. Their roads are no better technology than here and the on...

    Help with classic bike restoration?

Haha, those would likely be tie wraps to tell if the fork oil level is correct. You add or remove fork oil based on the actual travel vs the total available travel. I just went through this on my bike a few months ago...if they are vintage racing her then it likely matters even more to them...

The Pleasusre of working on bikes!!

In all honesty buy a vintage bike...mine has given me a hundred hours of that happiness. And it never really ends, just when you think you are done you decide to upgrade that or redo this. I agree, pure pleasure...wouldn't trade it for the world.

    Homemade carb sync tool questions

The manual may say one thing...but those of us with old carbs know better. You warm it up thoroughly, then sync the carbs. Get them within 1mm Hg of each other. (I have 4 to deal with.) Blip the throttle, let them settle down again, check them several times like this. Drive for about 500km...

    Homemade carb sync tool questions

I got a Morgan Carb tune...the best and it isn't that expensive. No liquid, very accurate... Don't forget, you are not going to use the thing only once...it is a procedure you will have to do over and over again. Ideally every 1000kms or more often if needed. And your bike runs like a swiss...

1978 Honda CB 400Twin - Rough Idling and Popping/Cracking Sound

These bikes usually/frequently require a good carb clean...and that doesn't come from a spray bottle. It comes from taking them off and doing it properly. Learn online if you don't know how. Also, avoid ethanol gas like the plague. After that's all done, perform a 3000km tuneup...oil, air...

    Need powder coating done......

Brightside did my frame and swingarm for my 1973 CB750 rebuild. It looks great, and didn't cost an arm and a leg. They actually borrowed my frame for the bike show as a demo it looked so good restored. Great guys to deal with...and they have a ridiculous range of colors available.

I saw an completely AWSOME bike.

You can get a lot of info just form those ministry kiosks at the mall. You used to be able to go and type in the plate as if you were renewing your sticker etc....and they ask you to confirm your address...I believe they haven't made it any more secure over the last 10+ years as far as I know.

    Stupid bicyclists...

It's also a serious criminal offense to disguise a motor vehicle for the purposes of committing a crime... (Not that I care what anyone does but just so people are aware.)

    Hondaman Ignition Help

Well, the yellow and blue points connections are in the under the oil tank area near the rear brake that's where the "yel" and "blu" "vio" and "org" intercept the connection between the coils and the points plate. You will definitely have to remove the tank, as the coils are under there and...

    Hondaman Ignition Help

I have a brand new one sitting here on my workbench....do you need a copy of the instructions? There are like 4 wires on the thing...it goes between your points plate and the coils and direct to the battery.

off duty cop tries to run me off the road for lane filtering....

Just saying...if more people knew what it was like in well basically the rest of the entire world (except Canada)...they would know that one or two idiots filtering through traffic once in a while isn't total chaos and anarchy. These things tend to take care of themselves anyway, by Darwin or...

off duty cop tries to run me off the road for lane filtering....

Everyone with sand in their panties about the minute amount of lane filtering we have here should go for a drive in Rome....I've never seen anything like it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cp26BqSoJ4c&feature=related Try "filtering" at 160km/hr on the highway, the drivers there call them...

where to buy 3m t-tap connectors

Look up Sayal on Harvester @ Appleby. They have them in about 3 different wire gauges. You'll likely want the 18-22awg variety. (Red) They aren't 3M but don't get too caught up on the name. Tyton and several other manufacturers have just as good of a product.
