March 2012: What condition are the northern roads?

Update on northern roads: May 27, 2012 Google Maps link So I did the following route this Saturday and thought I would provide an update on the following... Southwood Road As of today it's still sandy, but you can enjoy it at a decent pace... that is, no "spirited" rides. There's sand in...

Leslie & Lakeshore - Property Manager will be on site tonight

Seriously... why don't they get caplansky's or some food truck thing there on Thursday nights. The price chopper people could make their money if a VP were to be notified of the situation (because, nobody who works there probably has any say in the matter).

Why DVP so busy these last few days??

Going southbound on the 404 in the morning from Steeles, it's better to actually take the 401 exit and just stay on the left to go to the DVP as there's a bottle neck south of shepherd to where all the cars merge. Even if you have a passenger, the HOV lane ends up coming to a standstill most...

    Airport road

I vaguely remember passing a female motorcyclist w/ her passenger while I was going north on airport... Hope they're okay. :(

    Orangeville motorcycle collision

There were 3 motorcycles involved... not sure if all 3 crashed. They were cruisers as far as I know... I passed by the area & spoke to one of the firemen manning the north Airport road block, & I have a friend who lives right in front of the accident. GWS, rider!

victim of Road Rage, hit and run by a coworker, how should I handle this?

Judging by the demeaning comments against you in this thread, you should probably redefine what "cool" means to yourself. Also they damaged your property deliberately by using their vehicles. There have been incidents where people succumbing to road rage have literally killed people. Don't...

Suggestion for downtown to Leslie/Sheppard Route - Rush Hour

But isn't this blocked from time to time? The last few times I tried to go I had to turn back...

My prediction: OP gets fired for harassment of fellow employees.

victim of Road Rage, hit and run by a coworker, how should I handle this?

Hey OP, What are you going to do if you get an email from HR saying that some company employees are being harassed by your aggressive riding? What if you get a cop come to your home to tell you that there were "a couple" of reports of your aggressive riding? Seriously dude... cover your...

docs to carry with bike while riding

motorcycle original ownership & insurance stays in my wallet. car original ownership & insurance stays in the glove compartment of each car. Simple enough, if I were to ever lend my bike to a friend then I would give them my ownership & insurance slips, and I expect the same if I ever hop on...

    Motorcycle removed by Landlord

Seriously, this is the best option. Just talk to him and tell him you're plating it this month and will purchase street parking for the bike. I'm sure he may bicker and grumble but if you tell him your intentions nicely he should leave you alone.

    Motorcycle removed by Landlord

I'm assuming you live in downtown Toronto... It's possible to get an on-street permit for parking if there is no additional parking available for you. In this case it sounds correct since you're in a shared house. It's not that expensive... $14 / month...

    How were your nerves ..

First time ever on two motorized wheels for me was in Vietnam where my friends and I went on 125cc honda "wave series" motorbikes. Manual gear shift with no clutch. We rented them and with literally no experience or muscle memory, or safety training I managed to get it up to 95km/h down a...

    Yamaha XS 750 Special '78

    1) Glen @ fsmotorcycle.com is not that far from you. He's a great parts supplier, wise sage full of advice, and all around great dude. 2) cyclewerx around Dundas & Bloor works on old bikes. While you're in the area, head on over to the black dice cafe for a brew, run by a guy with a bike...

    Innerwear under leather suit

I'm seriously considering this stuff even though I don't race. Aliki, I wonder what it'd be like to go hiking in, or is it really just geared strictly for motorcycle use?

    texting drivers refused auto insurance.

This doesn't go far enough. I think they should refuse insurance to anyone who gets convicted of any ticket!! Think of the children.

    Penalty for Weaving Traffic

Regarding driving in the lane w/ parked cars... I've asked an officer at one of the motorcycle super shows and he said that it's perfectly legal and he does it himself. Common sense also dictates that you take care when driving in that lane as you have: - door prizes - clueless jay walkers...

    Random high revving during stop

Do the rpms stay at 1500-2000 after you let out the clutch for a bit and then put it back in? If it's a carb'd bike, when's the last time they were clean? Also, does it stay at 4,000rpm or does it go down to about 2,000rpm and then when you come to a stop w/ your clutch in it shoots back up...
