Well it's not a matter of being a chicken. I'd do that to give the other person the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the person was clueless as to what they were doing. So this just acts as a "warning". If they continue then there would be a more obvious confrontation!

It's all about the money. They need the money to survive and continue with the sport. There isn't nearly as much sponsorship available to them as there is to the guys. So they do these kinda things to make the money, unfortunately.

Some people just don't have the ability to think about the consequences of there actions. He probably has no clue that the ash is falling on your seat I bet. Next time you see it happening, clean the seat infront of him and make it look VERY obvious. Give him a dirty look and ride away. Maybe...
